ى الْمَسْجِدِ وَ إِنَّ النَّبِيَّ ص بَعَثَ إِلَيْهِمْ مُعَاذَ بْنَ جَبَلٍ فَنَادَى أَبَا بَكْرٍ فَقَالَ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ص يَأْمُرُكَ أَنْ تَخْرُجَ مِنَ الْمَسْجِدِ وَ تَسُدَّ بَابَكَ فَقَالَ سَمْعاً وَ طَاعَةً فَسَدَّ بَابَهُ وَ خَرَجَ مِنَ الْمَسْجِدِ
ثُمَّ أَرْسَلَ إِلَى عُمَرَ فَقَالَ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ص يَأْمُرُكَ أَنْ تَسُدَّ بَابَكَ الَّذِي فِي الْمَسْجِدِ وَ تَخْرُجَ مِنْهُ فَقَالَ سَمْعاً وَ طَاعَةً لِلَّهِ وَ لِرَسُولِهِ غَيْرَ أَنِّي أَرْغَبُ إِلَى اللَّهِ تَعَالَى فِي خَوْخَةٍ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ فَأَبْلَغَهُ مُعَاذٌ مَا قَالَهُ عُمَرُ
ثُمَّ أَرْسَلَ إِلَى عُثْمَانَ وَ عِنْدَهُ رُقَيَّةُ فَقَالَ سَمْعاً وَ طَاعَةً فَسَدَّ بَابَهُ وَ خَرَجَ مِنَ الْمَسْجِدِ
ثُمَّ أَرْسَلَ إِلَى حَمْزَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ فَسَدَّ بَابَهُ وَ قَالَ سَمْعاً وَ طَاعَةً لِلَّهِ وَ لِرَسُولِهِ
وَ عَلِيٌّ ع عَلَى ذَلِكَ مُتَرَدِّدٌ لَا يَدْرِي أَ هُوَ فِيمَنْ يُقِيمُ أَوْ فِيمَنْ يَخْرُجُ وَ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ص قَدْ بَنَى لَهُ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ بَيْتاً بَيْنَ أَبْيَاتِهِ فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ ص اسْكُنْ طَاهِراً مُطَهَّراً
فَبَلَغَ حَمْزَةَ قَوْلُ النَّبِيِّ ص لِعَلِيٍّ ع فَقَالَ يَا مُحَمَّدُ تُخْرِجُنَا وَ تُمْسِكُ غِلْمَانَ بَنِي عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ فَقَالَ لَهُ نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ لَوْ كَانَ الْأَمْرُ إِلَيَّ مَا جَعَلْتُ دُونَكُمْ مِنْ أَحَدٍ وَ اللَّهِ مَا أَعْطَاهُ إِيَّاهُ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَ إِنَّكَ لَعَلَى خَيْرٍ مِنَ اللَّهِ وَ رَسُولِهِ أَبْشِرْ فَبَشَّرَهُ النَّبِيُّ ص فَقُتِلَ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ شَهِيداً
وَ نَفِسَ ذَلِكَ رِجَالٌ عَلَى عَلِيٍّ فَوَجَدُوا فِي أَنْفُسِهِمْ وَ تَبَيَّنَ فَضْلُهُ عَلَيْهِمْ وَ عَلَى غَيْرِهِمْ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ص فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ النَّبِيَّ ص فَقَامَ خَطِيباً فَقَالَ إِنَّ رِجَالًا يَجِدُونَ فِي أَنْفُسِهِمْ فِي أَنْ أُسْكِنَ عَلِيّاً فِي الْمَسْجِدِ وَ أُخْرِجَهُمْ وَ اللَّهِ مَا أَخْرَجْتُهُمْ وَ لَا أَسْكَنْتُهُ
إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ أَوْحَى إِلَى مُوسَى وَ أَخِيهِ أَنْ تَبَوَّءا لِقَوْمِكُما بِمِصْرَ بُيُوتاً وَ اجْعَلُوا بُيُوتَكُمْ قِبْلَةً وَ أَقِيمُوا الصَّلاةَ وَ أَمَرَ مُوسَى أَنْ لَا يَسْكُنَ مَسْجِدَهُ وَ لَا يَنْكِحَ فِيهِ وَ لَا يَدْخُلَهُ إِلَّا ه
get out from the Masjid and close off your door! ’ He said, ‘Listening and obeying’. He closed off his door and went out from the Masjid. Then he was sent to Umar. He said, ‘Rasool-Allah-saww orders you to close off your door which (is opening) into the Masjid and get out from it! ’ He said, ‘Listening and obeying to Allah-azwj and His-azwj Rasool-saww, apart from that I wish to Allah-azwj the Exalted regarding a narrow slit regarding (looking at) the Masjid’. Muaz delivered (to Rasool-Allah-saww) what Umar had said. Then he was sent to Usman, and Ruqaiyya was with him. He said, ‘Listening and obeying! ’ He closed off his door and went out from the Masjid. Then he was sent to Hamza-asws, may Allah-azwj be pleased from himas. Heas closed hisas door and said: ‘Listening and obeying to Allah-azwj and His-azwj Rasool-saww’. And Ali-asws was hesitant upon that, not knowing whether he-asws was among the ones to be staying or among the ones to be expelled, and the Prophet-saww had built a house for him-asws in the Masjid between his-saww own houses. The Prophet-saww said to him-asws: ‘Dwell cleanly, Purified! ’
The words of the Prophet-saww to Ali-asws, reached Hamza-asws. He-as said, ‘O Muhammad-saww! You-saww have expelled us and withheld a boy of the Clan of Abdul Muttalib! ’ The Prophet-saww said to him-as: ‘If the matter had been up to me-saww, I-saww would not have made it to be besides you-as (instead of) anyone. By Allah-azwj! No one gave it to him-asws except Allah-azwj, and you-as are upon good from Allah-azwj and His-azwj Rasool-saww. Receive glad tidings! ’ The Prophet-saww gave him-as glad tidings, and he-as was killed on the day of Ohad, a martyr. And the men envied upon Ali-asws and they found (grudge) within themselves, and his-asws merit had been manifest to them and to others from the companions of Rasool-Allah-saww. That reached the Prophet-saww, so he-saww stood to address. He-saww said: ‘(Some) men are finding (grudges) within themselves regarding my-saww let Ali-asws dwell in the Masjid and expelling them. By Allah-azwj! I-saww neither expelled them nor settled him-asws. Allah-azwj Mighty and Majestic had Revealed to Musaas and hisas brotheras: And We Revealed unto Musa and his brother, saying: “Provide houses for your people in Egypt and make your (own) houses as a Qiblah (Direction), and establish the Salat [10: 87]. And He-azwj Commanded Musa-as that there would be no copulation in it, nor would anyone enter it except Haroun-as and hisas offspring.
