ُونَها فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَ لَا تَسْتَصْغِرَنَّ شَيْئاً مِنْ حُلْوٍ أَوْ فَضْلِ طَعَامٍ تَصْرِفُهُ فِي بُطُونٍ خَالِيَةٍ تُسَكِّنُ بِهَا غَضَبَ اللَّهِ تَبَارَكَ وَ تَعَالَى
وَ اعْلَمْ أَنِّي سَمِعْتُ أَبِي يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ آبَائِهِ عَنْ أَمِيرِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ص يَقُولُ لِأَصْحَابِهِ يَوْماً مَا آمَنَ بِاللَّهِ وَ الْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ مَنْ بَاتَ شَبْعَانَ وَ جَارُهُ جَائِعٌ
فَقُلْنَا هَلَكْنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ
فَقَالَ مِنْ فَضْلِ طَعَامِكُمْ وَ مِنْ فَضْلِ تَمْرِكُمْ وَ رِزْقِكُمْ وَ خِرَقِكُمْ تُطْفِئُونَ بِهَا غَضَبَ الرَّبِّ
وَ سَأُنَبِّئُكَ بِهَوَانِ الدُّنْيَا وَ هَوَانِ شَرَفِهَا عَلَى مَا مَضَى مِنَ السَّلَفِ وَ التَّابِعِينَ فَقَدْ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ قَالَ لَمَّا تَجَهَّزَ الْحُسَيْنُ ع إِلَى الْكُوفَةِ أَتَاهُ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ فَنَاشَدَهُ اللَّهَ وَ الرَّحِمَ أَنْ يَكُونَ هُوَ الْمَقْتُولَ بِالطَّفِّ
فَقَالَ ع أَنَا أَعْرَفُ بِمَصْرَعِي مِنْكَ وَ مَا وُكْدِي مِنَ الدُّنْيَا إِلَّا فِرَاقَهَا أَ لَا أُخْبِرُكَ يَا ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ بِحَدِيثِ أَمِيرِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع وَ الدُّنْيَا
فَقَالَ لَهُ بَلَى لَعَمْرِي إِنِّي لَأُحِبُّ أَنْ تُحَدِّثَنِي بِأَمْرِهَا
فَقَالَ أَبِي قَالَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ ع سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْحُسَيْنَ ع
يَقُولُ حَدَّثَنِي أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ صَلَوَاتُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ قَالَ إِنِّي كُنْتُ بِفَدَكَ فِي بَعْضِ حِيطَانِهَا وَ قَدْ صَارَتْ لِفَاطِمَةَ- ع
قَالَ فَإِذَا أَنَا بِامْرَأَةٍ قَدْ قَحَمَتْ عَلَيَّ وَ فِي يَدِي مِسْحَاةٌ وَ أَنَا أَعْمَلُ بِهَا فَلَمَّا نَظَرْتُ إِلَيْهَا طَارَ قَلْبِي مِمَّا تَدَاخَلَنِي مِنْ جَمَالِهَا فَشَبَّهْتُهَا بِبُثَيْنَةَ بِنْتِ عَامِرٍ الْجُمَحِيِّ وَ كَانَتْ مِنْ أَجْمَلِ نِسَاءِ قُرَيْشٍ
فَقَالَتْ يَا ابْنَ أَبِي طَالِبٍ هَلْ لَكَ أَنْ تَتَزَوَّجَ بِي فَأُغْنِيَكَ عَنْ هَذِهِ الْمِسْحَاةِ وَ أَدُلَّكَ عَلَى خَزَائِنِ الْأَرْضِ فَيَكُونَ لَكَ الْمُلْكُ مَا بَقِيتَ وَ لِعَقِبِكَ مِنْ بَعْدِكَ
فَقَالَ لَهَا ع مَنْ أَنْتِ حَتَّى أَخْطُبَكِ مِنْ أَهْلِكِ
فَقَالَتْ أَنَا الدُّنْيَا
قَالَ قُلْتُ لَهَا فَارْجِعِي وَ اطْلُبِي زَوْجاً غَيْرِي وَ أَقْبَلْتُ عَلَىمِسْحَاتِي وَ أَنْشَأْتُ أَقُولُ
لَقَدْ خَابَ مَنْ غَرَّتْهُ دُنْيَا دَنِيَّةٌوَ مَا هِيَ إِنْ غَرَّتْ قُرُوناً بِطَائِلٍأَتَتْنَا عَلَى زِيِّ الْعَرُوسِ بُثَيْنَةَوَ زِينَتُهَا فِي مِثْلِ تِلْكَ الشَّمَائِلِفَقُلْتُ لَهَا غُرِّي سِوَايَ فَإِنَّنِيعَزُوفٌ عَنِ الدُّنْيَا وَ لَسْتُ بِجَاهِلٍ
وَ مَا أَنَا وَ الدُّنْ

And know that I heard my-asws father-asws narrating from his-asws forefathers-asws, from Amir Al-Momineen-asws, he-asws had heard the Prophet-as Rasool-Allah-saww saying to his-saww companions one day: ‘He has not believed in Allah-azwj and the Last Day, one who spends a night satiated and his neighbour is hungry! ’
We said, ‘We are destroyed, O Rasool-Allah-saww! ’
He-saww said: ‘From leftovers of your meals, and from surplus of your dates and your sustenance, and your clothes, by these you can be extinguishing Wrath of the Lord-azwj’. I-asws shall inform you with shame of the world and shame of its nobilities upon what has passed from the ancestors and the followers. My-asws father Muhammad-asws Bin Ali-asws Bin Al-Husayn-asws, narrated to me-asws. He-asws said: ‘When Al-Husayn-asws equipped to go to Al-Kufa, Ibn Abbas came to him-asws. He adjured him-asws by Allah-azwj and the kinship that he-asws will be killed at ‘Al-Taff’ (Karbala). He-asws said: ‘I-asws am more knowing of my-asws killing place than you are, and what is my-asws fatigue from the world except separating from it. Shall I-asws inform you, O Ibn Abbas, with a Hadeeth of Amir Al-Momineen-asws and the world? ’
He said to him-asws, ‘Yes, by my life! I would love for you-asws to narrate to me with its matter! ’
My-asws father-asws said: ‘Ali-asws Bin Al-Husayn-asws said: ‘I-asws heard Abu Abdullah Al-Husayn‑asws saying: (Recording error)
‘Amir Al-Momineen-asws, may the Salawaat of Allah-azwj be upon him-asws, said: ‘I-asws was at Fadak in one of its gardens, and it had come to be for (Syeda) Fatima-asws’. He-asws said: ‘There I-asws was with a woman who had sneaked upon me, and in my-asws hand was a spade, and I-asws was working with it. When I-asws looked at her my-asws heart flew from what (thoughts had) entered me from her beauty. I-asws resembled her as Buseyna Bint Aamir Al-Jumhy, and she was the most beautiful of the women of Qureysh. She said, ‘O son-asws of Abu Talib-as! Is it okay for you-asws to marry me, for I can enrich you-asws from this spade, and I can point you upon treasures of the world, so the kingdom will be for you for as long as you-asws life and for your-asws posterity from after you-asws’. He-asws said to her: ‘Who are you, until I-asws can propose you from your family? ’
She said, ‘I am the world’. He-asws said, ‘I-asws said to her: ‘Return and seek a husband other than me-asws! ’ And I-asws turned to my-asws spade and prosed a poem saying: ‘He would be disappointed, the one who has been deceived by the world of his religion, and what is it even if is deceiving generations by frivolities. It comes to us upon being adorned like the bride and all her adornments in that appearance.
