Bin Sinan Bin Isa Al Mukattib in his letter to me, and his authorisation to me. He said, ‘It is narrated to me by my father, from Muhammad Bin Sinan, from Al Mufazzal Bin Umar, and it is narrated to us by Abu Al Hassan Ali Bin Ahmad Al Tusi, from Muhammad Bin Ali Al Razy, from Muhammad Ismail, from Abdullah Bin Usman, from Abdul Rahman Bin Abu Najran, from Al Mufazzal Bin Umar who said, ‘I, and Is’haq Bin Ammar, and Dawood Bin Kaseer Al-Raqqy, and Dawood Bin Aheyl, and Sayf Al-Tammar, and Al-Moalla Bin Khuneys, and Humran Bin Ayn were in the presence of Abu Abdullah-asws when a man called Ismail Bin Qays Al-Mowsily entered, and we were talking and Al-Sadiq-asws was performing Sajdah. When he-asws raised his-asws head, he-asws looked at him and said: ‘What is this sorrow and sadness? ’
He said, ‘O my Master-asws, may I be sacrificed for you-asws! It is so, and you-asws are right! My exhaustion is extensive and my chest is constricted! ’
He-asws said: ‘Where are you from the Salat of Needs? ’
He said, ‘And how should I pray it? May I be sacrificed for you-asws! ’
He-asws said: ‘When it will be the day of Thursday after the morning, bathe and go to your Prayer mat and pray four Cycles Salat, reciting in each Cycle Surah Al Fatiha, and Surah Al Qadr ten times. When you have performed Salaam, say one hundred times, ‘O Allah-azwj! Send Salawaat upon Muhammad-saww and Progeny-asws of Muhammad-saww! ’
Then raise your hands towards the sky and say, ‘O Allah-azwj! O Allah-azwj! ’, ten times. Then move your rosary and say, ‘O Lord-azwj O Lord-azwj! ’, until the breath is cut. Then extend your palms and raise them towards your face and say, ‘O Allah-azwj! O Allah-azwj! ’, ten times. And say, ‘O best of the ones hoped to, and O best of the ones supplicated to, and O most Generous of the ones who pardon, and most Benevolent of the ones asked! O One nothing is insignificant to Him-azwj what He-azwj Does! O One whenever supplicated to, Responds! I ask You-azwj by Your-azwj obliged Mercy, and determination of Your-azwj Forgiveness, and I ask You-azwj by Your-azwj Magnificent Names. And by every Name of Yours-azwj which is Magnificent, and I ask You-azwj by Your-azwj Honourable Face, and by Your-azwj Mighty Grace, and I ask You‑azwj by Your Magnificent Name, the most Magnificent, Judge of the religion, Reviver of the bones and these have decayed! And I ask You-azwj because You-azwj are Allah-azwj! There is no god except You-azwj, to Send Salawaat upon Muhammad-saww and Progeny-asws of Muhammad-saww, and to Fulfill my needs for me and Ease for me from my matters, so it will not be difficult upon me, and Ease for me seeking of my sustenance, from Your-azwj vast Grace! O Fulfiller of the needs! O Able upon what others are not able upon! O most Merciful of the merciful ones! ’
Al-Sadiq-asws said: ‘Say it repeatedly’. When it was after a year, and we were in the house
