ِيدِ فَقَالَ ع لَيْسَ عَلَيَّ مِنْهُ بَأْسٌ
ثُمَّ نَادَى ثَانِيَةً فَخَرَجَ إِلَيْهِ الزُّبَيْرُ وَ دَنَا مِنْهُ حَتَّى وَاقَفَهُ فَقَالَ لَهُ عَلِيٌّ يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ مَا حَمَلَكَ عَلَى مَا صَنَعْتَ فَقَالَ الطَّلَبُ بِدَمِ عُثْمَانَ فَقَالَ أَنْتَ وَ أَصْحَابُكَ قَتَلْتُمُوهُ فَيَجِبُ عَلَيْكَ أَنْ تُقِيدَ مِنْ نَفْسِكَ
وَ لَكِنْ أَنْشُدُكَ اللَّهَ الَّذِي لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الَّذِي أَنْزَلَ الْفُرْقَانَ عَلَى نَبِيِّهِ مُحَمَّدٍ ص أَ مَا تَذْكُرُ يَوْماً قَالَ لَكَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص يَا زُبَيْرُ أَ تُحِبُّ عَلِيّاً فَقُلْتَ وَ مَا يَمْنَعُنِي مِنْ حَبِّهِ وَ هُوَ ابْنُ خَالِي فَقَالَ لَكَ أَمَا أَنْتَ فَسَتَخْرُجُ عَلَيْهِ يَوْماً وَ أَنْتَ لَهُ ظَالِمٌ
فَقَالَ الزُّبَيْرُ اللَّهُمَّ بَلَى فَقَدْ كَانَ ذَلِكَ فَقَالَ عَلِيٌّ ع فَأَنْشُدُكَ اللَّهَ الَّذِي أَنْزَلَ الْفُرْقَانَ عَلَى نَبِيِّهِ مُحَمَّدٍ ص أَ مَا تَذْكُرُ يَوْماً جَاءَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص مِنْ عِنْدِ ابْنِ عَوْفٍ وَ أَنْتَ مَعَهُ وَ هُوَ آخِذٌ بِيَدِكَ فَاسْتَقْبَلْتُهُ أَنَا فَسَلَّمْتُ عَلَيْهِ فَضَحِكَ فِي وَجْهِي فَضَحِكْتُ أَنَا إِلَيْهِ
فَقُلْتَ أَنْتَ لَا يَدَعُ ابْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ زَهْوَهُ أَبَداً فَقَالَ لَكَ النَّبِيُّ ص مَهْلًا يَا زُبَيْرُ فَلَيْسَ بِهِ زَهْوٌ وَ لَتَخْرُجَنَ عَلَيْهِ يَوْماً وَ أَنْتَ ظَالِمٌ لَهُ فَقَالَ الزُّبَيْرُ اللَّهُمَّ بَلَى وَ لَكِنْ أُنْسِيتُ فَأَمَّا إِذَا ذَكَّرْتَنِي ذَلِكَ فَلَأَنْصَرِفَنَّ عَنْكَ وَ لَوْ ذَكَرْتُ هَذَا لَمَا خَرَجْتُ عَلَيْكَ
ثُمَّ رَجَعَ إِلَى عَائِشَةَ فَقَالَتْ مَا وَرَاءَكَ يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ فَقَالَ الزُّبَيْرُ وَ اللَّهُ وَرَائِي إِنِّي مَا وَقَفْتُ مَوْقِفاً فِي شِرْكٍ وَ لَا إِسْلَامٍ إِلَّا وَ لِيَ فِيهِ بَصِيرَةٌ وَ أَنَا الْيَوْمَ عَلَى شَكٍّ مِنْ أَمْرِي وَ مَا أَكَادُ أُبْصِرُ مَوْضِعَ قَدَمِي
ثُمَّ شَقَّ الصُّفُوفَ وَ خَرَجَ مِنْ بَيْنِهِمْ وَ نَزَلَ عَلَى قَوْمٍ مِنْ بَنِي تَمِيمٍ فَقَامَ إِلَيْهِ عَمْرُو بْنُ جُرْمُوزٍ الْمُجَاشِعِيُّ فَقَتَلَهُ حِينَ نَامَ وَ كَانَ فِي ضِيَافَتِهِ فَنَفَذَتْ دَعْوَةُ أَمِيرِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع فِيهِ
وَ أَمَّا طَلْحَةُ فَجَاءَهُ سَهْمٌ وَ هُوَ قَائِمٌ لِلْقِتَالِ فَقَتَلَهُ ثُمَ
Are you-asws going out to Al-Zubeyr while you-asws are unprotected (by armour) and he is clad in the iron? ’ He-asws said: ‘There will be no problem for me-asws, from him’. Then he-asws called out for a second time, and Al-Zubeyr came out to him-asws and went near him-asws until he recognised him-asws. Ali-asws said to him: ‘O Abu Abdullah! What carried you upon what you have done? ’ He said, ‘Seeking the blood of Usman’. He-asws said: ‘You and your companions have killed him, so it obligates upon you that you sit (in judgment) from yourself. But I-asws adjure you with Allah-azwj Who, there is no god except He-azwj, the One-azwj Who Revealed the Criterion (Quran) unto His-azwj Prophet-saww Muhammad-saww! Do you not remember one day Rasool-Allah-saww had said to you: ‘Do you love Ali-asws? ’ You had said, ‘And what would prevent me from loving him-asws and he-asws is a son-asws of my maternal uncle-as? ’ He-saww said to you: ‘But, you will be going out against him-asws one day and be an oppressor to him-asws’? ’
Al-Zubeyr said, ‘O Allah-azwj, yes! That has happened’. Ali-asws said: ‘I-asws adjure you with Allah-azwj Who Sent the Criterion (Quran) upon His-azwj Prophet-saww Muhammad-saww! Do you not remember one day Rasool-Allah-saww came from the presence of Awf and you were with him holding his hand, and I-asws met him-saww and greeted unto him-saww. He-saww smiled in my-asws face, and I-asws smiled at him-saww. You said, ‘You-saww do not leave priding with the son-asws of Abu Talib-asws, ever! ’ The Prophet-saww said to you: ‘Shh, no, O Zubeyr! There is no pride with him-asws, and you will be coming out against him-asws one day and you will be unjust to him-asws’. Al-Zubeyr said, ‘O Allah-azwj, yes, but I forgot. So, as you-asws have reminded me of that, I shall leave going away from you-asws, and had I remembered this, I would not have come out against you-asws’. Then he returned to Ayesha. She said, ‘What is behind you, O Abdullah? ’ Al-Zubeyr said, ‘By Allah-azwj! Behind me, I had not paused a pausing, neither in Shirk nor in except and for me was an insight into it, and today I am upon doubt from my affair, and I cannot see the place of my own feet’. Then he split through the rows and went out from between them and descended to a group from the clan of Tameem.
