مَا وَ اللَّهِ لَوْ أَنَّ أُولَئِكَ الْأَرْبَعِينَ رَجُلًا الَّذِينَ بَايَعُونِي وَفَوْا لِي لَجَاهَدْتُكُمْ فِي اللَّهِ وَ لَكِنْ أَمَا وَ اللَّهِ لَا يَنَالُهَا أَحَدٌ مِنْ عَقِبِكُمَا إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ
وَ فِيمَا يُكَذِّبُ قَوْلَكُمْ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ص قَوْلُ اللَّهِ أَمْ يَحْسُدُونَ النَّاسَ عَلى ما آتاهُمُ اللَّهُ مِنْ فَضْلِهِ فَقَدْ آتَيْنا آلَ إِبْراهِيمَ الْكِتابَ وَ الْحِكْمَةَ وَ آتَيْناهُمْ مُلْكاً عَظِيماً فَالْكِتَابُ النُّبُوَّةُ وَ الْحِكْمَةُ السُّنَّةُ وَ الْمُلْكُ الْخِلَافَةُ وَ نَحْنُ آلُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ
فَقَامَ الْمِقْدَادُ فَقَالَ يَا عَلِيُّ بِمَا تَأْمُرُ وَ اللَّهِ إِنْ أَمَرْتَنِي لَأَضْرِبَنَّ بِسَيْفِي وَ إِنْ أَمَرْتَنِي كَفَفْتُ فَقَالَ عَلِيٌّ ع كُفَّ يَا مِقْدَادُ وَ اذْكُرْ عَهْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ص وَ مَا أَوْصَاكَ بِهِ
ثُمَّ قُمْتُ وَ قُلْتُ وَ الَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لَوْ أَنِّي أَعْلَمُ أَنِّي أَدْفَعُ ضَيْماً وَ أُعِزُّ لِلَّهِ دِيناً لَوَضَعْتُ سَيْفِي عَلَى عُنُقِي ثُمَّ ضَرَبْتُ بِهِ قُدُماً أَ تَثِبُونَ عَلَى أَخِي رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ص وَ وَصِيِّهِ وَ خَلِيفَتِهِ فِي أُمَّتِهِ وَ أَبِي وُلْدِهِ فَأَبْشِرُوا بِالْبَلَاءِ وَ اقْنَطُوا مِنَ الرَّخَاءِ
وَ قَامَ أَبُو ذَرٍّ فَقَالَ أَيَّتُهَا الْأُمَّةُ الْمُتَحَيِّرَةُ بَعْدَ نَبِيِّهَا الْمَخْذُولَةُ بِعِصْيَانِهَا إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَقُولُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ اصْطَفى آدَمَ وَ نُوحاً وَ آلَ إِبْراهِيمَ وَ آلَ عِمْرانَ عَلَى الْعالَمِينَ ذُرِّيَّةً بَعْضُها مِنْ بَعْضٍ وَ اللَّهُ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ
وَ آلُ مُحَمَّدٍ ص الْأَخْلَافُ مِنْ نُوحٍ وَ آلُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ مِنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَ الصَّفْوَةُ وَ السُّلَالَةُ مِنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ وَ عِتْرَةُ النَّبِيِّ ص مُحَمَّدٍ أَهْلُ بَيْتِ النُّبُوَّةِ وَ مَوْضِعُ الرِّسَالَةِ وَ مُخْتَلَفُ الْمَلَائِكَةِ
وَ هُمْ كَالسَّمَاءِ الْمَرْفُوعَةِ وَ الْجِبَالِ الْمَنْصُوبَةِ وَ الْكَعْبَةِ الْمَسْتُورَةِ وَ الْعَيْنِ الصَّافِيَةِ وَ النُّجُومِ الْهَادِيَةِ وَ الشَّجَرَةِ الْمُبَارَكَةِ أَضَاءَ نُورُهَا وَ بُورِكَ زَيْتُهَا
مُحَمَّدٌ خَاتَمُ الْأَنْبِيَاءِ وَ سَيِّدُ وُلْدِ آدَمَ وَ عَلِيٌّ وَصِيُّ الْأَوْصِيَاءِ وَ إِمَامُ الْمُتَّقِينَ وَ قَائِدُ الْغُرِّ الْمُحَجَّلِينَ وَ هُوَ الصِّدِّيقُ الْأَكْبَرُ وَ الْفَارُوقُ الْأَعْظَمُ وَ وَصِيُّ مُحَمَّدٍ ص وَ وَارِثُ عِلْمِهِ
وَ أَوْلَى النَّاسِ بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ مِنْ أَنْفُسِهِمْ كَمَا قَالَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى النَّبِيُّ أَوْلى بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ مِنْ أَنْفُسِهِمْ وَ أَزْواجُهُ أُمَّهاتُهُمْ وَ أُولُوا الْأَرْحامِ بَعْضُهُمْ أَوْلى بِبَعْضٍ فِي كِتابِ اللَّهِ
فَقَدِّمُوا مَنْ قَدَّمَ اللَّهُ وَ أَخِّرُوا مَنْ
e Words of Allah-azwj: Or are they envying the people upon what Allah has Given them from His Grace? So We have Given the Progeny of Ibrahim, the Book and the Wisdom, and have Given them a grand kingdom [4: 54], so it is the Book, the Prophet-hood, and the Wisdom is the Sunnah, and the kingdom is the caliphate, and we-asws are the progeny-asws of Ibrahim-as’. Al-Miqdad-ra stood up and said, ‘O Ali-asws! What are your-asws orders? By Allah-azwj! If you-asws were to order me-ra, I will strike with my sword, and if you-asws order me-ra, I-asws shall refrain’. Ali-asws said: ‘Refrain, O Miqdad-ra, and remember the pact of Rasool-Allah-saww and what he-saww has bequeathed with’. Then I (Salman-ra) stood up and said, ‘By the One-azwj in Whose Hand is my-ra soul! If I-ra knew that I-ra can repel a wrong, and honour the Religion of Allah-azwj, I-ra would place my-ra sword upon my-ra neck, then I-ra would strike with it ahead! Are you pouncing upon the brother-asws of Rasool-Allah-saww, and his-saww successor-asws, and his-saww caliph in his-saww community, and father-asws of his-saww children? Then receive news of the affliction termination from the hopes! ’
And Abu Zarr-ra stood up and said, ‘O you community, the confused ones after its Prophet-saww, and on the way with its acts of disobedience! Allah-azwj Says: Surely Allah chose Adam and Noah and the progeny of Ibrahim and the progeny of Imran above the worlds [3: 33] Offspring, one being from the other; and Allah is Hearing, Knowing [3: 34]. And the Progeny-asws of Muhammad-saww are the replacements from Noah-as, and are the progeny-asws of Ibrahim-as from Ibrahim, and the descendants from Ismail-as, and family-asws of the Prophet-saww Muhammad-saww, People-asws of the Household of Prophet-hood, and place of the Message, and interchange of the Angels. And they-asws are like the raised sky, and the installed mountains, and the veiled Kabah, and the clear spring, and the guiding stars, and the Blessed tree illuminating its light, and its Blessed oil. Muhammad-saww is the last of the Prophets-as, and chief of the children of Adam-as, and Ali-asws the successor-asws of the successors-as, and Imam-asws of the pious, and guide of the resplendent, and he-asws is the greatest truthful, and the magnificent distinguisher, and successor-asws of Muhammad-saww, and inheritor of his-saww knowledge. And he-asws is foremost of the people with the Momineen-asws than their own selves, just as Allah-azwj the Exalted Said: The Prophet is foremost with the Momineen than their own selves, and his wives are their mothers; and the possessors of the womb relationships, some of them are higher than the others in the Book of Allah, [33: 6]. So, advance the one whom Allah-azwj Advanced, and keep back the one whom Allah-azwj Kept back, and make the governance and the ministry to be for the one Allah-azwj has Made it for’.
