ما، الأمالي للشيخ الطوسي الْمُفِيدُ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ الْكَاتِبِ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ الزَّعْفَرَانِيِّ عَنِ الثَّقَفِيِّ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ أَخِيهِ عَنْ بَكْرِ بْنِ عِيسَى قَالَ: لَمَّا اصْطَفَّتِ النَّاسُ لِلْحَرْبِ بِالْبَصْرَةِ خَرَجَ طَلْحَةُ وَ الزُّبَيْرُ فِي صَفِّ أَصْحَابِهِمَا فَنَادَى أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ الزُّبَيْرَ بْنَ الْعَوَّامِ فَقَالَ لَهُ يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ادْنُ مِنِّي لِأُفْضِيَ إِلَيْكَ بِسِرٍّ عِنْدِي فَدَنَا مِنْهُ حَتَّى اخْتَلَفَتْ أَعْنَاقُ فَرَسَيْهِمَا
فَقَالَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ نَشَدْتُكَ اللَّهَ إِنْ ذَكَّرْتُكَ شَيْئاً فَذَكَرْتَهُ أَ مَا تَعْتَرِفُ بِهِ فَقَالَ لَهُ نَعَمْ فَقَالَ أَ مَا تَذْكُرُ يَوْماً كُنْتَ مُقْبِلًا عَلَيَّ بِالْمَدِينَةِ تُحَدِّثُنِي إِذْ خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص فَرَآكَ مَعِي وَ أَنْتَ تَبَسَّمُ إِلَيَّ
فَقَالَ لَكَ يَا زُبَيْرُ أَ تُحِبُّ عَلِيّاً فَقُلْتَ وَ كَيْفَ لَا أُحِبُّهُ وَ بَيْنِي وَ بَيْنَهُ مِنَ النَّسَبِ وَ الْمَوَدَّةِ فِي اللَّهِ مَا لَيْسَ لِغَيْرِهِ فَقَالَ إِنَّكَ سَتُقَاتِلُهُ وَ أَنْتَ لَهُ ظَالِمٌ فَقُلْتَ أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنْ ذَلِكَ فَنَكَسَ الزُّبَيْرُ رَأْسَهُ ثُمَّ قَالَ إِنِّي أُنْسِيتُ هَذَا الْمَقَامَ
فَقَالَ لَهُ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ دَعْ هَذَا أَ فَلَسْتَ بَايَعْتَنِي طَائِعاً قَالَ بَلَى قَالَ أَ فَوَجَدْتَ مِنِّي حَدَثاً يُوجِبُ مُفَارَقَتِي فَسَكَتَ ثُمَّ قَالَ لَا جَرَمَ وَ اللَّهِ لَا قَاتَلْتُكَ وَ رَجَعَ مُتَوَجِّهاً نَحْوَ الْبَصْرَةِ
فَقَالَ لَهُ طَلْحَةُ مَا لَكَ يَا زُبَيْرُ مَا لَكَ
(The book) ‘Al Amaali’ of the sheykh Al Tusi – Al Mufeed, from Ali Bin Muhammad the scribe, from Al Hassan Bin Ali Al Zafrani, from Al Saqafi, from Ibrahim Bin Umar who said, ‘It is narrated to me, from his brother, from Bakr Bin Isa who said, ‘When the people chose the war at Al-Basra, Talha and Al-Zubeyr came out among a rod of their companions. Amir Al-Momineen Ali-asws Bin Abu Talib-asws called out Al-Zubeyr Bin Al-Awaam. He-asws said to him: ‘O Abu Abdullah! Come nearer to me-asws so I-asws divulge a secret to you which is with me-asws’. He went near to him-asws until the necks of their horses rubbed. Amir Al-Momineen-asws said: ‘We-asws adjure you with Allah-azwj, if I-asws remind you of anything, so you remember it, will you not acknowledge with it? ’ He said to him-asws, ‘Yes’. He-asws said: ‘Do you not remember one day you were facing towards me-asws at Al-Medina discussing with me-asws, when Rasool-Allah-saww came out and saw you with me-asws, and you were smiling at me-asws. He-saww said to you: ‘O Zubeyr! Do you love Ali-asws? ’ You said, ‘And how can I not love him-asws, and between me and him-asws there is the lineage (connection) and the cordiality for the Sake of Allah-azwj what isn’t for others? ’ He-saww said: ‘You will be fighting against him-asws and you would be an oppressor to him-asws’. You said, ‘I seek Refuge with Allah-azwj from that’. Al-Zubeyr lowered his head, then said, ‘I had forgotten this occasion’. Amir Al-Momineen-asws said: ‘Leave this! Didn’t you pledge allegiance to me-asws willingly? ’ He said, ‘Yes’. He-asws said: ‘Did you find from me-asws any innovation obligating separating from me-asws? ’ He was silent, then said, ‘No doubt. By Allah-azwj! I will not fight against you’. And he returned heading towards Al-Basra. Talha said to him, ‘What is the matter with you, O Zubeyr! What is the matter with y
