Hadith 211

(The books) ‘Jamie Al-Fawaaid’ (and) ‘Taweel Al Ayaat Al Zaahira’ –
‘Words of the Exalted: He said: ‘Lord! Expand my chest for me [20: 25] And Ease my matter for me [20: 26] – the Verse. Muhammad Bin Al Abbas said, ‘It was narrated to us by Muhammad Bin Al-Hassan Al Khash’amy, from Asma’a Bin Umeyr who said, ‘I saw Rasool-Allah-saww facing a bull and he-saww was saying: ‘Shiny bull! Shiny bull! O Allah-azwj! I-saww ask You-azwj what my-saww father-as Musa-as had asked You-azwj: Expand my chest for me [20: 25] And Ease my matter for me [20: 26] And Loosen the knot from my tongue [20: 27] (That) they may understand my speech [20: 28] And Make a Vizier to be for me from my family [20: 29] Ali-asws, my brother [20: 30] Strengthen my back by him [20: 31] And associate him in my matter [20: 32] So that we may Glorify You abundantly [20: 33] And remember You a lot [20: 34] Surely, You were always Insightful with us [20: 35]’’. [112]
And it is reported by Abu Nueym Al Hafiz, by his chain from his men, from Ibn Abbas who said, ‘The Prophet-saww held a hand of Ali-asws Bin Abu Talib-asws and his-saww hand, and we were at Makkah, and he-saww prayed four Cycles Salat, then raised his-saww head towards the sky, and said: ‘O Allah-azwj! Your-azwj Prophet Musa-as Bin Imran-as asked You-azwj. He-as said: ‘Expand my chest for me [20: 25] And Ease my matter for me [20: 26] – the Verse. And I-saww am Muhammad-saww Your-azwj Prophet-saww. I-saww ask You-azwj: ‘Lord! Expand my chest for me [20: 25] And Ease my matter for me [20: 26] And Loosen the knot from my tongue [20: 27] (That) they may understand my speech [20: 28] And Make a Vizier to be for me from my family [20: 29] – Ali-asws Bin Abu Talib-asws, my-saww brother-asws. Strengthen my back by him [20: 31] And associate him in my matter [20: 32]. Ibn Abbas said, ‘I heard a called calling out: ‘O Ahmad-saww! I-saww have Granted you-saww what you-saww have asked for’’.
