The books ‘Al Rowza’, (and) ‘Al Fazaail’ of Ibn Shazan, ‘From Ali-asws having said: ‘One night from the nights Rasool-Allah-saww called me-asws, and it was a pitch-dark night. He-saww said to me-asws: ‘Take your-asws sword and go into the mountain of Abu Qubeys, and everyone you-asws see upon its peak, strike him with the sword’. I-asws aimed for the mountain. When I-asws was high upon it I-asws found a black man of formidable appearance upon it, as if his eye were two embers. His appearance terrified me-asws. He said to me-asws, ‘O Ali-asws! ’ So, I-asws went near him and struck him with the sword and cut him into two halves. I-asws heard the clamour from houses of Makkah in their entirety. Then I-asws came to Rasool-Allah-saww and he-saww was in the house of Khadeeja-asws, may Allah-azwj be Pleased with heras. I-asws informed him-saww the news. He-saww said: ‘Do you-asws know whom you-asws have killed? ’ I-asws said: ‘Allah-azwj and His-azwj Rasool-saww are more knowing’. He-saww said: ‘You-asws killed Al-Laat and Al-Uzza. By Allah-azwj! They will not return to be worshipped after it, ever! ’’[69]
