Hadith 10

(The book) ‘Uyoon Akhbar Al-Reza-asws’ – ‘My father, from Ibn Isa, from Ibn Mahboub, from Yaqoub Bin Is’haq, from Abu Zakariya Al Wasity, from Hisham Bin Ahmad. And it is narrated to me by Majaylawiya, from his uncle, from Al Kufy, from Muhammad Bin Khalid, from Hisham Bin Ahmad who said, ‘Do you know of anyone from the people of Al-Maghreb (Morocco) to have arrived? ’ I said, ‘No’. He-asws said: ‘Yes. A man has arrived, so come with us-asws to go to him’. He-asws rode, and we rode with him-asws until we ended up to the man. He was a man from the people of Al-Magrib, having female slaves with him. He-asws said to him: ‘Display to us! ’ He displayed nine girls to us, for all of them Abu Al-Hassan-asws was saying: ‘There is no need for me-asws regarding her! ’
Then he-asws said to him: ‘Display to us! ’ He said, ‘There is nothing (else) in my possession’. He-asws said: ‘Yes there is, display to us! ’ He said, ‘No, by Allah-azwj, there is nothing with me except a sick woman! ’ He-asws said to him: ‘What would be against you if you were to display her? ’ He refused to him-asws. Then he-asws left. Then he-asws sent me to him the next morning. He-asws said to me: ‘Say to him, ‘What is your maximum (price)) regarding her? ’ He will say, ‘Such and such’. So, say, ‘I shall take her’. I came to him. He said, ‘I do not want to reduce it from such and such’. I said, ‘I have taken her, and it (price) is for you’. He said, ‘She is for you, but who was the man, the one who was with you yesterday? ’ I said, ‘He-asws is a man from the clan of Hashim-as’. He said, ‘From which sons of Hashim-as? ’ I said, ‘There is nothing with me more than this’. I shall inform you about this maid of honour. I had bought her from the outskirts of Al-Maghrib. A woman from the people of the Book met me. She said, ‘What is this maid of honour with you? ’ I said, ‘I have bought her for myself’. She said, ‘It is not befitting that this maid of honour should be with the likes of you! This slave girl is appropriate to be with best of the people of the earth. She will not be with him-asws except a little until she will be blessed from him-asws with a boy, the east of the earth and its west would humble to him-asws. He (the narrator) said, ‘I came to him-asws with her. She was not with him-asws except a little until she was blessed with Ali (Al-Reza-asws)’’. [13]
