The Rewards and the Merits of Establishing Prayers in the Mosque of the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ — Hadith 2

2. My father narrated to me from Sa’d ibn ‘Abdillāh ibn Abī Khalaf Al-Qummi Al-Ash’ari, from Aḥmad ibn Muḥammad ibn ‘Isā, from Mūsā ibn Qāsim Al-Bajali, from someone who narrated to him, from Murāzim, who said: I asked Abā ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a. s. )) about praying in the Mosque of the Messenger of Allāh (s. a. a. w. ). Imam (a. s. ) replied: The Messenger of Allāh (s. a. a. w. ) has said: One Salāt in my mosque is equal to one thousand prayers elsewhere, and one Salāt in MASJID AL-ḤARĀM is equal to one thousand prayers in my mosque. Then Imam (a. s. ) continued: Verily Allāh has given preference to Makkah over other cities, and He has given preference to (specific) areas (of Makkah) over other areas in it by saying, “Take for yourselves a place of prayer on the standing-place of Ibrāhīm” (2: 125). Allāh has also given preference to some people over others, and in His Book He has ordered people to follow them and to love them.
