خص: سَعْدٌ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ عُمَرَ مِثْلَهُ، وَ زَادَ فِي آخِرِهِ: فَقُلْتُ لِمَ سَمَّى عُمَرَ: الْفَارُوقَ؟. قَالَ: نَعَمْ، أَ لَا تَرَى أَنَّهُ قَدْ فَرَّقَ بَيْنَ الْحَقِّ وَ الْبَاطِلِ وَ أَخَذَ النَّاسُ بِالْبَاطِلِ. فَقُلْتُ: فَلِمَ سَمَّى سَالِماً: الْأَمِينَ؟. قَالَ: لَمَّا كَتَبُوا الْكُتُبَ وَضَعُوهَا عَلَى يَدِ سَالِمٍ فَصَارَ الْأَمِينَ. قُلْتُ: فَقَالَ: اتَّقُوا دَعْوَةَ سَعْدٍ. قَالَ: نَعَمْ، قُلْتُ: وَ كَيْفَ ذَلِكَ؟. قَالَ: إِنَّ سَعْداً يَكُرُّ فَيُقَاتِلُ عَلِيّاً عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ.
(The book) ‘Mukhtasar Al Basaair’ – Sa’ad, from Musa Bin Umar, ‘Similar to it and there is an increase in its end, ‘I said, ‘Why was Umar named as ‘Al Farouq’ (differentiator)? ’ He-asws said: ‘Do you not see that he had differentiated between the truth and the falsehood and took the people with the falsehood? ’
I said, ‘Why was he named as the peaceful, the trustworthy? ’ He-asws said: ‘When they wrote the letter and placed these upon the safe hand, so he became the trustworthy’. I said, ‘He had said, ‘Fear the call of Sa’ad’. He-asws said: ‘Yes’. I said, ‘And how was that? ’ He-asws said: ‘Sa’ad had withdrawn from fighting Ali-asws’’. [56]
