قَالَ نَصْرٌ وَ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ حَكِيمٍ الْعَبْسِيُّ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ كَثِيرٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّ عَلِيّاً ع أَتَى كَرْبَلَاءَ فَوَقَفَ بِهَا فَقِيلَ لَهُ يَا أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ هَذِهِ كَرْبَلَاءُ فَقَالَ نَعَمْ ذَاتُ كَرْبٍ وَ بَلَاءٍ ثُمَّ أَوْمَأَ بِيَدِهِ إِلَى مَكَانٍ آخَرَ فَقَالَ هَاهُنَا مَوْضِعُ رِحَالِهِمْ وَ مُنَاخُ رِكَابِهِمْ ثُمَّ أَوْمَى بِيَدِهِ إِلَى مَكَانٍ آخَرَ ثُمَّ قَالَ هَاهُنَا مُرَاقُ دِمَائِهِمْ
ثُمَّ مَضَى إِلَى سَابَاطَ حَتَّى انْتَهَى إِلَى مَدِينَةِ بَهُرَسِيرَ.
Nasr said, ‘And it is narrated to us by Saeed Bin Hakeem Al-Absy, from Al Hassan Bin Kaseer, from his father, ‘Ali-asws came to Karbala and paused at it. It was said to him-asws, ‘O Amir Al-Momineen-asws! This is Karbala’. He-asws said: ‘Yes, with distress (Karb) and afflictions (Bala’a)’. Then he-asws indicated by his-asws hands to another place and said, ‘Over there is the location of their travelling, and stables for their rides’. Then he-asws gestured by his-asws hand to another place, then said: ‘Over there would be the spilling of their blood’. Then he-asws went to arches until he-asws ended up to the city of Bahuraseyr’’.
