يف، الطرائف رَوَى أَبُو هِلَالٍ الْعَسْكَرِيُّ فِي كِتَابِ الْأَوَائِلِ قَالَ: أَوَّلُ مَنْ قَالَ جُعِلْتُ فِدَاكَ عَلِيٌّ ع لَمَّا دَعَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَبْدِ وُدٍّ إِلَى الْبِرَازِ يَوْمَ الْخَنْدَقِ وَ لَمْ يُجِبْهُ أَحَدٌ قَالَ عَلِيٌّ ع جُعِلْتُ فِدَاكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَ تَأْذَنُ لِي
قَالَ إِنَّهُ عَمْرُو بْنُ عَبْدِ وُدٍّ قَالَ وَ أَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ فَخَرَجَ إِلَيْهِ فَقَتَلَهُ وَ أَخَذَ النَّاسُ مِنْهُ. وَ مِنْ غَيْرِ كِتَابِ الْأَوَائِلِ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ص لَمَّا أَذِنَ لِعَلِيٍّ ع فِي لِقَاءِ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَبْدِ وُدٍّ وَ خَرَجَ إِلَيْهِ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ص بَرَزَ الْإِيمَانُ كُلُّهُ إِلَى الْكُفْرِ كُلِّهِ. وَ مِنْ كِتَابِ صَدْرِ الْأَئِمَّةِ عِنْدَهُمْ مُوَفَّقُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ الْمَكِّيُّ أَخْطَبُ خَوَارِزْمَ بِإِسْنَادِهِ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ص قَالَ: لَمُبَارَزَةُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ لِعَمْرِو بْنِ عَبْدِ وُدٍّ أَفْضَلُ مِنْ أَعْمَالِ أُمَّتِي إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ.
(The book) ‘Al Taraif’ – It is reported by Abu Hilal Al Askari in the book ‘Al Awail’, said, ‘The first one to say: ‘May I be sacrificed for you! ’ was Ali-asws. When Amro Bin Abd Wudd called for the duel on the day of (battle of) Al-Khandaq, and no one answered him, Ali-asws said: ‘May I-asws be sacrificed for you-saww, O Rasool-Allah-saww! ’ Will you-saww give permission for me-asws? ’
He-saww said: ‘It is Amro Bin Abd Wudd’. He-asws said: ‘And I-asws am Ali-asws Bin Abu Talib-asws’. He-asws went out to him and killed him, and the people took (saying it), from him-asws’’. [1]
And from other than the book ‘Al-Awail’ – When the Prophet-saww permitted for Ali-asws to meet (in duel) Amro Bin Abd Wudd, and he-asws went out to him, the Prophet-saww said: ‘There goes the Eman – all of it, against the Kufr – all of it! ’’[2]
And from the book ‘Sadr Al Aimma’ – Muwaqqaf Bin Ahmad Al Makky, Akhtab Khawarizm, by his chain, ‘The Prophet-saww said for the dule of Ali Bin Abu Talib-asws to Amro Bin Abd Wudd: ‘It is the most superior of (all) the deeds of my-saww community up to the Day of Qiyamah’’. [3]
