And Al-Hassan Bin Rashid said, ‘I said to our master Abu Abdullah-asws, ‘May I be sacrificed for you-asws! Is there for the Muslims any Eid other than the two Eids (Al-Fitr and Al-Azha)? ’
He-asws said: ‘Yes, O Hassan, their mightiest and their noblest’. He said, ‘I said, ‘And which day is it? ’
He-asws said: ‘Amir Al-Momineen-asws was installed as a flag for the people’. I said, ‘And which day is it? ’
He-asws said: ‘The 18th day of Zil Hijjah’. I said, ‘May I be sacrificed for you-asws, and what is befitting for us do to during it? ’
He-asws said: ‘You should fast it and frequent the Salawaat upon Muhammad-saww and People‑asws of his-saww Household, and disavow to Allah-azwj Mighty and Majestic from the ones who oppress them-asws of their-asws rights, for the Prophets-as used to instruct the successors-as with the day in which the successor-as was established in, to be taken as an Eid (festival)’. I said, ‘What is for the one who fasts it? ’
He-asws said: ‘Fasting for sixty months’’. [11]
And from Al-Mufazzal Bin Umar – ‘Al-Sadiq-asws said: ‘When it will be the Day of Qiyamah, four days will be escorted to Allah-azwj Mighty and Majesty just as the bride tends to be escorted to her chamber – the day of Al-Fitr, and the day of Al-Azha, and the day of Friday, and the day of Ghadeer Khumm, and the day of Ghadeer Khumm between Al-Fitr and Al-Azha and the Friday is like the moon between the planets! And on the day of Ghadeer Khumm Allah-azwj Mighty and Majestic Allocates His-azwj Angels of Proximity, and their chief is Jibraeel-as, and His-azwj Messenger Prophets-as, and their chief is Muhammad-saww, and the selected successors of Allah-azwj, and their chief on that day is Amir Al-Momineen-asws, and the righteous servants of Allah-azwj, and their chiefs on that day are Salman-ra, and Abu Zarr-ra, and Al-Miqdad-ra, and Ammar-ra until they-asws usher with it to the Gardens just as the shepherd ushers his sheep to the water and the fodder! Al-Mufazzal said, ‘I said, ‘O my chief! Are you instructing me to fast it? ’
He-asws said: ‘Yes, by Allah-azwj! Yes, by Allah-azwj! It is the day in which Allah-azwj had rescued Ibrahim-as from the fire, so he-as fasted that day for thanking to Allah-azwj Mighty and Majestic, and it is the day in which Rasool-Allah-saww stood installed Amir Al-Momineen-asws as a flag and manifested his-asws merit and his-asws successor-ship, so he-asws fasted that day, and that is a day of fasting and standing (for Salat) and feeding the good, and connecting the brethren, and in it is Pleasure of the Beneficent and rubbing the nose of Satan-la’’.
