Hadith 86

(The book) ‘Al Adad Al Qawiya’ of the brother of the Allamah, may Allah-azwj Sanctify his soul –
‘Fasting on the day of Ghadeer Khumm equates to fasting the age of the world, if a person were to live (so long), then he (again) fasts for as long as the age of the world, for him would be the Rewards of that and his fast would equate in the Presence of Allah-azwj to one hundred Hajj and a hundred Umrah during every year, accomplished, Accepted! And it is an Eid of Allah-azwj, Majestic is His-azwj Greatest Name, and Allah-azwj has not Sent any Prophet-saww except and he-as had made it a festival in this day, and recognised its sanctity; and its name in the sky is, ‘The day of the Entrusted Pact’, and in the earth, ‘The day of the Covenanted Covenant’, and ‘The Witnessed gathering’! And one who prays two units during it, bathing for them half an hour before the midday, then he prays these with the midday thanking Allah-azwj the Exalted, reading in every unit of these Surah Al Fatiha, and Surah Al Ikhlaas ten times, and Surah Al Qadr ten times, and Ayat Al Kursi ten times, these would equate in the Presence of Allah-azwj to a hundred thousand Umrah, and he will not ask Allah-azwj the Exalted for a need from needs of the world and the Hereafter except He-azwj would Fulfil it! If you miss out the two units, then fulfil these later, and one who breaks the fast of a Momin, it would be as if has fed a ‘Fiyaam’, and a ‘Fiyaam’ – and he-saww did not cease counting until he-saww counted ten’. Then he-asws said: ‘Do you know what is the ‘Fiyaam’? ’
I said, ‘No’. He-asws said: ‘One hundred thousand, and for him would be Rewards of the one feeding their number, from the Prophets-as, and the truthful, and the martyrs in the Sanctuary of Allah-azwj Mighty and Majestic and quenched them during a day of starvation; and the Dirham spent (equates) with a thousand Dirhams’. Then he-asws said: ‘Perhaps you think that Allah-azwj Mighty and Majestic has Created a day of mightier sanctity than it? No, by Allah-azwj! No, by Allah-azwj! No, by Allah-azwj! ’
Then he-asws said: ‘And let it be from our words when you meet each other, ‘The Praise is for Allah-azwj Who Honoured us with this day and Made us from the one loyal with His-azwj Pact to us and His-azwj Covenant which He-azwj Covenanted us with, of the Wilayah of the masters of His-azwj Command, and the ones standing with His-azwj Fairness, and did not Make us from the rejecters and the beliers of the Day of Religion (Reckoning)! ’
Then he should supplicate at the end with the well-known supplication’’. [9]
