Hadith 380

Jibraeel-as descended from the sky and said: ‘O Muhammad-saww! Upon what is this discomfort? ’ He-saww said: ‘Upon my-saww two sons-asws, Al-Hassan-asws and Al-Husayn-asws, for I-saww fear upon them-asws from the plots of the Jews’. Jibraeel-as said: ‘O Muhammad-saww! But, fear upon them from the plots of the hypocrites, for their plots are severer than the plots of the Jews! And know, O Muhammad-saww, that your-saww two sons-asws Al-Hassan-asws and Al-Husayn-asws are both sleeping in a garden of Abu Al-Dahdaah’. The Prophet-saww came from his-saww very time and his-saww moment, to the garden, and I-ra was with him-saww, until we entered the garden, and there they-asws were, both asleep, and one of them-asws had hugged the other, and there was a serpent with a bundle of basil in its mouth, aerating their-asws faces with it. When the serpent saw the Prophet-saww, threw out whatever was in its mouth and said, ‘The greetings be to you-saww, O Rasool-Allah-saww! I am not a serpent, but I am an angel from the Angels of the Lord-azwj, the cherubs. I was heedless from the Mention of my Lord-azwj for the blink of an eye. My Lord-azwj was Wrathful upon me and Morphed me into a serpent like what you-asws see, and Expelled me from the sky to the earth, and for years I have been frequently aiming to a generous one of Allah-azwj and asking him to intercede for me in the Presence of my Lord-azwj. Perhaps He-azwj will Mercy me and Return me to be an Angel like what I used to be at first. He-azwj is Able upon all things’. He (the narrator) said, ‘The Prophet-saww knelt kissing them-asws until they woke up and sat up straight upon the knees of the Prophet-saww. The Prophet-saww said to them-asws: ‘Look, O my-saww sons! This is an Angel from the Angels of Allah-azwj, the cherubs. He was heedless from the mention of his Lord-azwj for the blink of an eye, so Allah-azwj Made him to be like this, and I-saww am interceding with you-asws both to Allah-azwj the Exalted, so intercede for him’. Al-Hassan-asws and Al-Husayn-asws leapt up and perfected the wud’u and prayed two Cycles, and said: ‘O Allah-azwj! By the right of our-asws grandfather-saww, the majestic, the beloved Muhammad-saww, Al-Mustafa-saww, and by our-asws father-asws Ali-asws, Al-Murtaza-asws, and by our-asws mother-asws Fatima Al-Zahra-asws, if You-azwj could Re
