(The book) ‘Rijal’ of Al Kashy – Hamdawiya, from Al-Hassan Bin Musa, ‘From Ali Bin Khattab, and he was a Waqifite. He said, ‘I was in the pausing on the day of Arafaat. Abu Al-Hassan Al-Reza-asws came, and with him-asws was one of the sons of his-asws uncle. He-asws stopped in front of me, and I was hot with severe fever, and intense thirst had afflicted me. He (the narrator) said, ‘Al-Reza-asws said to a slave of his-asws, something I did not understand. Then slave descended and came with water in a jug and gave it to him-asws. He-asws drank and poured the surplus upon his-asws head due to the heat. Then he-asws said: ‘Fill it! ’ He filled the jug. Then he-asws said: ‘Go and quench that sheykh! ’
He (the narrator) said, ‘He came to me with the water and said to me, ‘You are unwell? ’ I said, ‘Yes’. He said, ‘Drink’. I drank, and by Allah-azwj, the fever went away’. Yazeed Bin Ish’aq said to me, ‘Woe be unto you, O Ali (Ali Bin Khattab)! So, what do you want after this? What are you waiting for? ’ He said, ‘O my brother, leave us! ’ Yazeed said to him, ‘I narrated the Hadeeth of Ibrahim Bin Shuayb, and he used to be a Waqifite like him. He had said, ‘I was in the Masjid of Rasool-Allah-azwj and there was a large-bodied person to my side. I said, ‘From who is the man? ’ He said to me, ‘A slave of the clan of Hashim-as’. I said, ‘So who is the most learned of the clan of Hashim-as? ’ He said, ‘Al-Reza-asws’. I said, ‘So what is the matter it does not come from him-asws like what it comes from his-asws forefathers-asws? ’ He said to me, ‘I don’t know what you are saying’, and he got up and left me. I did not wait except a little until he came to me with a letter and handed it to me. I read it, and there, it was in a handwriting not good. In it was: ‘O Ibrahim! You shall be resembling your forefathers, and for you would be such and such children from the males, so and so, and so and so’ – until he-asws had counted them with their names – ‘and from you, from the females would be so and so, and so and so’ – until he had counted entirety of the daughters with their names. He (the narrator) said, ‘There was a daughter for him titled as ‘Al-Ja’fariya’. The handwriting was upon her name. When I had read the letter, he said to me, ‘Give it’. I said, ‘Leave it’. He said, ‘No. I am ordered to take it from you’. I handed it to him. Al-Hassan said, ‘I found them both having died upon their doubts’’. [166]
