Hadith 951

The book ‘Al Gharaat’ of Ibrahim Bin Muhammad Al Saqafy, from Al Qazzaz, from Ali Bin Hashim, from his father, from Yazeed Bin Abdul Rahman, from Al Ashfany who said, ‘I entered Al-Rahba, and I was a boy among boys. There I was with Amir Al-Momineen Ali-asws Bin Abu Talib-asws standing upon gold and silver, and with him was a whisk and he-asws was repelling the people with his-asws whisk. Then he-asws returned to the wealth and distributed it between the people until there did not remain anything from it, and he-asws returned and did not carry anything to his-asws own house. I returned to my father. I said, ‘Today I saw (one who was either) best of the people or most naive of the people’. He said, ‘And who is he, O my son? ’
I said, ‘I saw Amir Al-Momineen Ali-asws’ – I narrated the story of which I had seen him-asws doing. He-asws said: ‘O my son! You saw best of the people’’. [269]
