كِتَابُ مَقْصَدِ الرَّاغِبِ، قَالَ: قَضَى أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع فِي قَتْلَى صِفِّينَ وَ الْجَمَلِ وَ النَّهْرَوَانِ مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ أَنْ يُنْظَرَ فِي جِرَاحَاتِهِمْ فَمَنْ كَانَتْ جِرَاحَتُهُ مِنْ خَلْفِهِ لَمْ يُصَلِّ عَلَيْهِ
وَ قَالَ فَهُوَ الْفَارُّ مِنَ الزَّحْفِ وَ مَنْ كَانَتْ جِرَاحَتُهُ مِنْ قُدَّامِهِ صَلَّى عَلَيْهِ وَ دَفَنَهُ.
The book ‘Maqsad Al Raghib’ –
He said, ‘Amir Al-Momineen-asws decreed regarding the slain of (battles of) Siffeen, and Al-Jamal, and Al-Nahrwan, from his-asws companions: ‘Look into their injuries. The one whose injuries were to be from his behind, he will not be prayed Salat upon him’. And he-asws said: ‘He is the fleer from the (army) march, and one whom whose injuries were from his front, Salat will be prayed upon him and buried’’. [12]
