Hadith 72

(The books) ‘Al Balad’, and ‘Al Junnah’, and ‘Al Mulhaqaat’ –
‘Another supplication of (Imam) Al-Sajjad-asws – ‘In the Name of Allah-azwj the Beneficent, the Merciful! The Praise is for Allah-azwj Who no one witnessed when He-azwj Originated the skies and the earth, nor did He-azwj Take any assistance when He-azwj Formed the persons! He-azwj did not Participate anyone in the Divinity and did not Manifest in the Oneness. The tongues are unable to describe the peak of His-azwj description, and the intellect from describing Essence of His-azwj recognition, and the tyrants humble to His-azwj Awe, and the faces incline to fearing Him-azwj, and every mighty one submits to His-azwj Might! For Him-azwj is the Praise, continuous, harmonious, uninterrupted, dignified, and may His-azwj Salawaat and His-azwj Greeting be upon His-azwj Rasool-saww for ever, constantly, ever-lasting! O Allah-azwj! Make the beginning of this day of mine as righteous, and its middle as profitable, and its end as success, and I seek Refuge with You-azwj on the Day, its beginning is panic, and its middle is panic, and its end is painful! O Allah-azwj! I seek Your-azwj Forgiveness for every vow I have vowed, and promised I have promise, and every agreement I had made, then I was not loyal with it! And I ask You-azwj in Carrying grievances of the servants on our behalf. So, whichever servant from Your-azwj servants, or maid from Your-azwj maids who had a grievance for him before me which I had unjust to him, either regarding himself, or his honour, or regarding his wealth, or regarding family and his children, or a backbite I had backbit him with, or I had attacked upon him with inclination, or personal desire, or sentiment, or bias, or showing off, or prejudice, whether he was absent or present, alive or dead, my hands had been deficient, and I was restricted in my capacity to return it to him, and disengaged from him! I ask You-azwj, O One Who Controls the needs and these can be Answered by His-azwj Desire, and quickness of His-azwj Intention, to Send Salawaat upon Muhammad-saww and Progeny-asws of Muhammad-saww, and to Satisfy him-saww on my behalf with whatever You-azwj Desire, and Gift to me Mercy from Your-azwj Presence. Surely, the Forgiveness does not reduce You-azwj nor does the Granting harm You-azwj, O most Merciful of the merciful ones! O Allah-azwj! Grant me during every day two bounties from You-azwj – happiness in its beginning in Your-azwj obedience, and a bounty in its end of Your-azwj Forgiveness, O One Who is the God‑azwj, and no one forgives the sins apart from Him-azwj! ’’[30]
