Hadith 63

(The books) ‘Al Ilal’ and ‘Al Uyoun’ – From Abdul Wahid Bin Ubdous, from Ali Bin Muhammad Bin Quteyba, from Al Fazl Bin Shazan among what he reported from ‘Al Ilal’, ‘From Al-Reza-asws in argumentation: ‘Why has a Salat made to be for the eclipse? ’
It will be said, ‘Because it is a sign from the signs of Allah-azwj Mighty and Majestic. It is not known whether it has appeared for Mercy or for Punishment, so the Prophet-saww loved it for his-saww community to panic to its Creator and its Mercier during that for its evil to be turned away from them and He-azwj would Save them from its abhorrence just as He-azwj had Turned it way from the people of Musa-as when they had beseeched to Allah-azwj Mighty and Majestic’. If he says, ‘Why has it been made as ten Cycles (of Salat)? ’
It will be said: ‘Because the Salat is which its obligation has descended from the sky to the earth and what is in the day and the night, rather it was ten Cycles (two Cycles each five times a day). So, these Cycles have been gathered over here, and rather the Sajdah has been made to be in it because there cannot be a Salat wherein is Ruk’u except that there is Sajdah in it, and because their Salat will end as well with the Sajdah. And rather four Sajdah(s) have been made because every Salat its Sajdah(s) are less than four Sajdah(s) cannot be a Salat, because it is the least obligatory from the Sajdah(s) in the Salat cannot be except upon four Sajdah(s)’. If he says, ‘Why has the Sajdah not been made to be instead of the Ruk’u? ’
It will be said, ‘Because the Salat prayed standing is better than the Salat prayed sitting, and because the standing one can see the eclipse and the clearance, while the one in Sajdah cannot see’. If he says, ‘Why has it been changed from the original Salat which Allah-azwj had Obligated (of two Cycles)? ’
It will be said, ‘Because he-saww prayed for the reason of a change of a matter from the matters, and it is the eclipse. When the cause changed, the effect changed’’. [83]
