الْإِقْبَالُ، رَوَيْنَا بِإِسْنَادِنَا إِلَى أَبِي مُحَمَّدٍ هَارُونَ بْنِ مُوسَى التَّلَّعُكْبَرِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ بِإِسْنَادِهِ إِلَى جَابِرِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ الْجُعْفِيِّ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ قَالَ: كُنْتُ بِالْمَدِينَةِ وَ قَدْ وَلَاهَا مَرْوَانُ بْنُ الْحَكَمِ مِنْ قِبَلِ يَزِيدَ بْنِ مُعَاوِيَةَ وَ كَانَ شَهْرَ رَمَضَانَ فَلَمَّا كَانَ فِي آخِرِ لَيْلَةٍ مِنْهُ أَمَرَ مُنَادِيَهُ أَنْ يُنَادِيَ فِي النَّاسِ بِالْخُرُوجِ إِلَى الْبَقِيعِ لِصَلَاةِ الْعِيدِ
فَغَدَوْتُ مِنْ مَنْزِلِي أُرِيدُ إِلَى سَيِّدِي عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ ع غَلَساً فَمَا مَرَرْتُ بِسِكَّةٍ مِنْ سِكَكِ الْمَدِينَةِ إِلَّا لَقِيتُ أَهْلَهَا خَارِجِينَ إِلَى الْبَقِيعِ فَيَقُولُونَ إِلَى أَيْنَ تُرِيدُ يَا جَابِرُ
فَأَقُولُ إِلَى مَسْجِدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ص حَتَّى أَتَيْتُ الْمَسْجِدَ فَدَخَلْتُهُ فَمَا وَجَدْتُ فِيهِ إِلَّا سَيِّدِي عَلِيَّ بْنَ الْحُسَيْنِ ع قَائِماً يُصَلِّي صَلَاةَ الْفَجْرِ وَحْدَهُ فَوَقَفْتُ وَ صَلَّيْتُ بِصَلَاتِهِ
فَلَمَّا أَنْ فَرَغَ مِنْ صَلَاتِهِ سَجَدَ سَجْدَةَ الشُّكْرِ ثُمَّ إِنَّهُ جَلَسَ يَدْعُو وَ جَعَلْتُ أُؤَمِّنُ عَلَى دُعَائِهِ فَمَا أَتَى إِلَى آخِرِ دُعَائِهِ حَتَّى بَزَغَتِ الشَّمْسُ فَوَثَبَ قَائِماً عَلَى قَدَمَيْهِ تُجَاهَ الْقِبْلَةِ وَ تُجَاهَ قَبْرِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ص-
ثُمَّ إِنَّهُ رَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ حَتَّى صَارَتَا بِإِزَاءِ وَجْهِهِ وَ قَالَ
إِلَهِي وَ سَيِّدِي أَنْتَ فَطَرْتَنِي وَ ابْتَدَأْتَ خَلْقِي- لَا لِحَاجَةٍ مِنْكَ إِلَيَّ بَلْ تَفَضُّلًا مِنْكَ عَلَيَّ وَ قَدَّرْتَ لِي أَجَلًا وَ رِزْقاً لَا أَتَعَدَّاهُمَا وَ لَا يَنْقُصُنِي أَحَدٌ مِنْهُمَا شَيْئاً وَ كَنَفْتَنِي مِنْكَ بِأَنْوَاعِ النِّعَمِ وَ الْكِفَايَةِ طِفْلًا وَ نَاشِئاً مِنْ غَيْرِ عَمَلٍ عَمِلْتُهُ فَعَلِمْتَهُ مِنِّي فَجَازَيْتَنِي عَلَيْهِ بَلْ كَانَ ذَلِكَ مِنْكَ تَطَوُّلًا عَلَيَّ وَ امْتِنَاناً
فَلَمَّا بَلَغْتَ بِي أَجَلَ الْكِتَابِ مِنْ عِلْمِكَ وَ وَفَّقْتَنِي لِمَعْرِفَةِ وَحْدَانِيَّتِكَ وَ الْإِقْرَارِ بِرُبُوبِيَّتِكَ فَوَحَّدْتُكَ مُخْلِصاً لَمْ أَدْعُ لَكَ شَرِيكاً فِي مُلْكِكَ وَ لَا مُعِيناً عَلَى قُدْرَتِكَ وَ لَمْ أَنْسُبْ إِلَيْكَ صَاحِبَةً وَ لَا وَلَداً-
فَلَمَّا بَلَغْتَ بِي تَنَاهِيَ الرَّحْمَةِ مِنْكَ عَلَيَّ مَنَنْتَ بِمَنْ هَدَيْتَنِي بِهِ مِنَ الضَّلَالَةِ وَ اسْتَنْقَذْتَنِي بِهِ مِنَ الْهَلَكَةِ وَ اسْتَخْلَصْتَنِي بِهِ مِنَ الْحَيْرَةِ وَ فَكَكْتَنِي بِهِ مِنَ الْجَهَالَةِ وَ هُوَ حَبِيبُكَ
(The book) ‘Al Iqbal’ – We are reporting by our chain to Abu Muhammad Haroun Bin Musa Al Tal’akbury, may Allah-azwj be Satisfied with him, by his chain to Jabir Bin Yazeed Al Jufy, ‘From Jabir Bin Abdullah Al-Ansari-ra who said, ‘I was at Al-Medina and Marwan Bin Al-Hakam was its governor, from before Yazeed Bin Muawiya-la, and it was a month of Ramazan. When it was in end of a night from it, he ordered his caller to call out among the people with going out to Al-Baqie for Salat of the Eid. I-ra went from my house intending to go to my Chief Ali-asws Bin Al-Husayn-asws at twilight. I-ra did not pass by any market from markets of Al-Medina except I met its people going out to Al-Baqie. They said, ‘Where are you intending, O Jabir-ra? ’
I-ra said, ‘To Masjid of Rasool-Allah-saww! ’, until I-ra came to the Masjid. I-ra entered it. I-ra did not see anyone in it except my Chief Ali-asws Bin Al-Husayn-asws, standing, praying Salat Al-Fajr, alone. I-ra paused and prayed along with his-asws Salat. When he-asws was free from his-asws Salat, he-asws performed a Sajdah of thanks, then he-asws sat supplicating, and I-ra kept on saying ‘Ameen’ to his-asws supplication. He-asws had not come to end of his-asws supplication until the sun emerged (dawn). He-asws leapt up standing upon his‑asws feet facing the Qiblah and facing the grave of Rasool-Allah-saww. Then he-asws raised his-asws hands until they came to be parallel to his-asws face, and he-asws said: ‘My God-azwj and my Chief! You-azwj are my Originator and Initiator of my creation, not because of any need on your-azwj part, but rather a Grace from You-azwj towards me and You-azwj Determined for me a term and sustenance, neither transgressing these nor reducing me anyone of these, and You-azwj Bestowed me from You-azwj with a variety of bounties, and Sufficiency when a child and an adolescent, from without any work I had done, You-azwj Know from me, so You-azwj Rewarded me upon it. But, that was from You-azwj as Leniency and Conferment! When the Prescribed term from You-azwj Knowledge reaches with me, and You-azwj Harmonise me to recognise Your-azwj Oneness and the acceptance of Your-azwj Lordship-azwj, so I should worship You-azwj sincerely, not claiming there being an associate for You-azwj in Your-azwj Kingdom nor any assistant upon Your-azwj Power, and do not attribute to You-azwj, neither a female companion nor a son! When then Mercy from You-azwj reached the ultimate point with me, You-azwj Conferred me with the one whom You-azwj Guided me by him-saww from the straying, and You-azwj Saved me by him-saww from the destruction, and You-azwj Rescued me by him from the confusion, and Freed me by him-saww from the ignorance, and he-saww is Your-azwj Beloved and Your-azwj Prophet-saww, Muhammad-saww, the closest of the created beings with You-azwj and their most honourable of status in front of You-azwj! I have testified with him-saww with the Oneness (for You-azwj), and have acknowledged for You‑azwj with the Lordship-azwj, and for him-saww
