Hadith 32

(The book) ‘Al Fazaail’ of Ibn Shazan – Ibn Al Waleed, from Al Saffar, from Ibn Marouf, from Abdullah Al Asamma, from Hadeyra who said, ‘I said to Abu Abdullah-asws, ‘May I be sacrificed for you-asws! Which one is superior, the Hajj or the charity? ’
He-asws said: ‘This issue, in it are two issues’. He-asws said: ‘How much (does he have enough wealth) to carry its owner to the Hajj? ’
He (the narrator) said, ‘I said, ‘No’. He-asws said: ‘When the wealth can carry to the Hajj, the charity cannot equate to the Hajj. The Hajj is superior, and if it does not happen to be except little, then the charity (is superior)’. I said, ‘So (what about) the Jihad? ’
He-asws said: ‘The Jihad is the most superior of things after the obligations in the time of Jihad, and there is no Jihad except with the Imam-asws! ’
I said, ‘So (what about) the Ziyarat? ’
He-asws said: ‘Ziyarat of the Prophet-saww and Ziyarat of the successors-asws, and Ziyarat of Hamza-ra, and in Al Iraq Ziyarat of Al Husayn-asws’. He (the narrator) said, ‘I said, ‘So what (Reward) is for one visiting (performing Ziyarat) of Al-Husayn-asws? ’
He-asws said: ‘He will be immersed in the Mercy and will be obligated the (Divine) Pleasure, and the evil will be turned away from him, and the sustenance will flow upon him, and the Angels will escort him, and he will be clothed in Noor by which the Recording Angels will recognise him with, so he will not pass by anyone from the Recorders (Angels) except he will supplicate for him’’. (The book) ‘Al Mahasin’ – My father, from Amro Bin Usman, from Al Husayn Bin Khalid who said, ‘I wrote to Abu Al-Hassan-asws, ‘How did the Pilgrim become such that no sin is written upon him for four months from the day he shaves his head? ’
He-asws said: ‘Allah-azwj had legalised the Sanctuary for the Polytheists for four months when He-azwj Said: ‘So go about in the land for four months [9: 2]. Thus He-azwj Legalised for the believers when they visit Him-azwj (perform Hajj), a release from the sins for four months, and they are more deserving of than the Polytheists were! ’’[31]
