Hadith 561

(The book) ‘Kifayat Al Aser’ – Ali Bin Al-Hassan Bin Muhammad, from Al-Husayn Bin Ali Bin Abdullah Al Mowsy the judge, from Muhammad Bin Al-Husayn Bin Hafs, from Ali Bin Al Musanna, from Jareer Bin Abdul Hameed Al Zaby, from Al Amsh, from Ibrahim Bin Yazeed Al Samman, from his father, ‘From Al-Husayn-asws Bin Ali-asws having said: ‘A Bedouin entered to see Rasool-Allah-saww intending, and with him was a lizard he had hunted in the wilderness, and he had made it to be in his sleeve. The Prophet-saww went to present to him. He said, ‘I will not believe in you-saww, O Muhammad-saww, or unless this lizard believes in you-saww’, and he threw the lizard from his sleeve. The lizard went out from the Masjid fleeing. The Prophet-saww said: ‘O lizard! Who am I-saww? ’ The lizard said, ‘You-saww are Muhammad-saww Bin Abdullah-asws, Bin Abdul Muttalib-asws, Bin Hashim-as, Bin Abd Manaf-as’. He-saww said: ‘O lizard! Whom do you worship? ’ It said, ‘I worship Allah-azwj Who Split the seed and Formed the person, and Took Ibrahim-as as a friend, and whispered to Musa-as in a conversation, and Chose you-saww, O Muhammad-saww! ’
The Bedouin said, ‘I testify that there is no god except Allah-azwj, and you-saww are a Rasool-saww of Allah-azwj, truly. Inform me, O Rasool-Allah-saww! Will there happen to be a Prophet-saww after you-saww? ’
He-saww said: ‘No, I-saww am last of the Prophets-as, but there will happen to be Imams-asws from my-saww offspring, standing with the fairness, like the number of captains of the children of Israel. Their-asws first is Ali-asws Bin Abu Talib-asws.
