Hadith 12

e of these two Seyyids from the Imamate, and the inheritance! I am a speaker of their-asws knowledge and a seeker of their-asws traces (Ahadeeth) and exert from myself the solemn oath upon guarding their-asws secrets’. He said, ‘If you were truthful in what you are saying, then present what accompanies you, from the Ahadeeth from the transmitters of their-asws news’. When he had searched the books and browsed the reports from these, he said, ‘You speak the truth. I am Bishr Bin Suleyman the slave trader, from the sons of Abu Ayoub Al-Ansari, one of the friends of Abu Al-Hassan-asws and Abu Muhammad-asws, and their neighbour at Surmanray’. I said, ‘Honour your brother with some of what you have witnessed from their-asws Ahadeeth’. He said, ‘My Master-asws Abu Al-Hassan-asws had made me understand the knowledge of slaves. I neither used to buy nor sell without his-asws permission. So, due to that, I shunned the sources of suspicion until my understanding had been perfected regarding it. I became good at differentiating between the Permissible and the Prohibited. One night while I was in my house at Surmanray, and most of the night had passed by, there was a knock on the door by someone. I rushed quickly, and there I was with Kafour the servant, messenger of our Master-asws Abu Al-Hassan Ali -asws Bin Muhammad-asws summoning me to him-asws. I wore my clothes and entered to see him. I saw him-asws discussing with his-asws son-asws Abu Muhammad-asws, and his-asws sister (Syeda) Hakeema-as was behind the curtain. When I was seated, he-asws said: ‘O Bishr! You are from the sons of the helpers, and this is the friendship which has not ceased to be among you all, a replacement inheriting from an ancestor, and you are our-asws trusted ones, of People-asws of the Household’ – and he continued the Hadeeth approximate from what is reported by the Sheykh up to its end’’.
