Jabra`ǐl Shows the Land on Which Ĥusain Will Be Killed to the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ — Hadith 4

4. My father narrated to me from Sa’d ibn ‘Abdillāh, from Muḥammad ibn Walīd Al-Khazzāz, from Ḥammād ibn ‘Uthmān, from ‘Abdil Malik ibn A’yan, who said: I heard Abā ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a. s. )) say: (One day) when Jabra`īl was with the Messenger of Allāh (s. a. a. w. ) in the house of Um Salamah, Ḥusain (a. s. ) entered. Jabra`īl said, “Verily your nation will kill this son of yours. Should I not show you the dust of the land on which he will be killed? ” The Messenger of Allāh (s. a. a. w. ) replied, “Yes. ” Therefore, Jabra`īl extended his hand (to the land on which Ḥusain (a. s. ) would be killed), took a handful of that dust, and then showed it to the Prophet (s. a. a. w. )
