(The book) ‘Al Manaqib’ of Ibn Shehr Ashub – Muhammad Bin Abdullah Bin Al Aftas said, ‘I entered to see Al-Mamoun. He drew me near and welcomed me, then said: ‘May Allah-azwj have Mercy on Al-Reza-asws! What he-asws had known, he-asws informed me with a wonder. I had asked him-asws one night, and the people had pledged allegiances to him-asws (as heir-apparent). I said to him-asws, ‘May I be sacrificed for you-asws! I view for you-asws that you-asws should go to Al-Iraq, and I shall be your-asws caliph at Khurasan’. He-asws had smiled, then said: ‘No, by my-asws life! But I-asws have come from besides Khurasan. Over here there is a dwelling for us-asws, and I-asws will not depart until the death comes to me-asws, and from it would be the Resurrection, it is inevitable! ’
I said to him-asws, ‘And what made you-asws know of that? ’ He-asws said: ‘My-asws knowledge with my-asws place is like my-asws knowledge of your place’. I said, ‘And where would be my place? May Allah-azwj Keep you-asws well! ’
He-asws said: ‘The place is distant between me-asws and you. I-asws shall be dying in the east and you shall be dying in the west’. I struggled with all the struggle to make him-asws covet regarding the caliphate, but he-asws refused’’. [150]
Al-Hassan Bin Ali Al Washa said, ‘My Master-asws Al-Reza-asws called me at Merv. He-asws said: ‘O Hassan! They asked him, ‘Who is your Lord-azwj? ’ He said, ‘Allah-azwj! ’ Then they said, ‘Who is your Prophet-saww? ’ He said, ‘Muhammad-saww! ’
They said, ‘Who is your guardian? ’ He said, ‘Ali-asws Bin Abu Talib-asws! ’ They said, ‘Then who? ’ He said, ‘Al-Hassan-asws’. They said, ‘Then who? ’ He said, ‘Al-Husayn-asws’. They said, ‘Then who? ’ He said, ‘Ali-asws Bin Al-Husayn-asws’. They said, ‘Then who? ’ He said, ‘Muhammad-asws Bin Ali-asws’. They said, ‘Then who? ’ He said, ‘Ja’far-asws Bin Muhammad-asws’. They said, ‘Then who? ’ He said, ‘Musa-asws Bin Ja’far-asws’. They said, ‘Then who? ’ He stuttered. They rebuked him and said, ‘Then who? ’ He was silent. They said to him, ‘Didn’t Musa-asws Bin Ja’far-asws order you with this? ’ Then they struck him with a
