(The book) ‘Al Taraif’ – It is reported by Ibn Al Maghazali in his book, by his chain to Atiya Al Awfy who said, ‘I saw Ibn Abu Awfy in the vestibule of his after his eyesight had gone. I asked him about a Hadeeth. He said, ‘You are people of Al-Kufa, among you is what is among you’. I said, ‘May Allah-azwj Keep you well! I am not from them nor is it a shame upon you’. He said, ‘Which Hadeeth? ’ I said, ‘Hadeeth of Ali-asws on the day of Ghadeer Khumm’. He said, ‘Rasool-Allah-saww came out to us during the farewell Hajj on the day of Ghadeer Khumm, and he-saww was holding a hand of Ali-asws. He-saww said: ‘O you people! Aren’t you knowing that I-saww am foremost with the Momineen than their own selves? ’ They said, ‘Yes, O Rasool-Allah-saww! ’ He-saww said: ‘One whose Master I-saww was, so this Ali-asws is his Master’’. [112]. And from that is what is reported by Ibn Al Maghazali in his book, and it is reported by his chain to Umar Bin Sa’ad who said, ‘I witnessed Ali-asws being upon the pulpit adjuring the companions of Rasool-Allah-saww: ‘Who has heard Rasool-Allah-saww on the day of Ghadeer Khumm saying what he-saww said, so let him testify! ’
Twelve me from them stood up, from them being Abu Saeed Al Khudri, and Abu Hureyra (well-known fabricator), and Anas Bin Malik (well-known fabricator). They testified that they had heard Rasool-Allah-saww saying: ‘One whose Master I-saww was, so Ali-asws is his Master. O Allah-azwj! Befriend the one befriending him-asws, and be Inimical to the one being inimical to him-asws, and Help the one helping him-asws and Abandon the one abandoning him-asws’’. [113]
The Seyyid said, and he had left out the remaining reports of the jurist Ibn Al Maghazali regarding the day of Al Ghadeer, fearing the prolongation, and it he had reported reports pointing upon that the Prophet-saww had determined this meaning in the presence of his-saww companions before the day of Al Ghadeer, due to the attribution of these words. So, from the reports of the Shafie jurist Ibn Al Maghazali regarding that in the book ‘Al Manaqib’, by his chain to Anas (well-known fabricator), said, ‘When it was the day of the imprecation, and the Prophet-saww established brother-hood between the Emigrants and the Helpers, and Ali-asws was standing looking at him-saww and he-saww knew of his-asws place, yet he-saww did not establish brother-hood between him-asws and anyone. Ali-asws left crying his-asws eyes. The Prophet-saww missed him-asws. He-saww said: ‘What happened to Abu Al-Hassan-asws? ’ They said, ‘He-asws left crying his-asws eyes, O Rasool-Allah-saww! ’ He-saww said: ‘O Bilal! Go and bring him-asws’. Bilal went to Ali-asws, and he-asws had entered into his-asws house crying his-asws eyes. (Syeda) Fatima-asws se
