ْماً وَ أَعْظَمَهُمْ حِلْماً وَ أَعْلَمَهُمْ عِلْماً. وَ رَوَى الْمُحَدِّثُونَ عَنْهُ ص أَنَّهُ قَالَ: مَنْ أَرَادَ أَنْ يَنْظُرَ إِلَى نُوحٍ فِي عَزْمِهِ وَ إِلَى مُوسَى فِي عِلْمِهِ وَ عِيسَى فِي وَرَعِهِ فَلْيَنْظُرْ إِلَى عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ. أَنَّهُ ع قَالَ لَهُمْ يَوْمَ الشُّورَى أَنْشُدُكُمُ اللَّهَ أَ فِيكُمْ أَحَدٌ آخَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص بَيْنَهُ وَ بَيْنَ نَفْسِهِ حَيْثُ آخَى بَيْنَ بَعْضِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ وَ بَعْضٍ غَيْرِي فَقَالُوا لَا
فَقَالَ أَ فِيكُمْ أَحَدٌ قَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص مَنْ كُنْتُ مَوْلَاهُ فَهَذَا مَوْلَاهُ غَيْرِي فَقَالُوا لَا
فَقَالَ أَ فِيكُمْ أَحَدٌ قَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص أَنْتَ مِنِّي بِمَنْزِلَةِ هَارُونَ مِنْ مُوسَى إِلَّا أَنَّهُ لَا نَبِيَّ بَعْدِي غَيْرِي قَالُوا لَا
قَالَ أَ فِيكُمْ مَنِ ائْتُمِنَ عَلَى سُورَةِ بَرَاءَةَ وَ قَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص لَا يُؤَدِّي عَنِّي إِلَّا أَنَا أَوْ رَجُلٌ مِنِّي غَيْرِي قَالُوا لَا
قَالَ أَ لَا تَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّ أَصْحَابَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ص فَرُّوا عَنْهُ فِي الْحَرْبِ فِي غَيْرِ مَوْطِنٍ وَ مَا فَرَرْتُ قَطُّ قَالُوا بَلَى
قَالَ أَ تَعْلَمُونَ أَنِّي أَوَّلُ النَّاسِ إِسْلَاماً قَالُوا بَلَى قَالَ فَأَيُّنَا أَقْرَبُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ص نَسَباً قَالُوا أَنْتَ الْخَبَرَ. وَ قَالَ وَ رُوِيَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ص فِي قَوْلِهِ تَعَالَى هذانِ خَصْمانِ اخْتَصَمُوا فِي رَبِّهِمْ أَنَّهُ سُئِلَ عَنْهَا فَقَالَ عَلِيٌّ وَ حَمْزَةُ وَ عُبَيْدَةُ وَ عُتْبَةُ وَ شَيْبَةُ وَ الْوَلِيدُ. رُوِيَ عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ الصَّادِقِ ع قَالَ: كَانَ عَلِيٌّ ع يَرَى مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ص الضَّوْءَ وَ يَسْمَعُ الصَّوْتَ. و قال في موضع آخر أ ليس يعلم معاوية و غيره من الصحابة أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ص قَالَ لَهُ فِي أَلْفِ مَقَامٍ أَنَا حَرْبٌ لِمَنْ حَارَبْتَ وَ سِلْمٌ لِمَنْ سَالَمْتَ وَ نَحْوُ ذَلِكَ مِنْ قَوْلِهِ اللَّهُمَّ وَالِ مَنْ وَالاهُ وَ عَادِ مَنْ عَادَاهُ
وَ قَوْلِهِ حَرْبُكَ حَرْبِي وَ سِلْمُكَ سِلْمِي وَ قَوْلِهِ أَنْتَ مَعَ الْحَقِّ وَ الْحَقُّ مَعَكَ وَ قَوْلِهِ هَذَا أَخِي وَ قَوْلِهِ يُحِبُّ اللَّهَ وَ رَسُولَهُ وَ يُحِبُّهُ اللَّهُ وَ رَسُولُهُ
وَ قَوْلِهِ اللَّهُمَّ ائْتِنِي بِأَحَبِّ خَلْقِكَ إِلَيْكَ وَ قَوْلِهِ إِنَّهُ وَلِيُّ كُلِّ مُؤْمِنٍ بَعْدِي وَ قَوْلِهِ لَا يُحِبُّهُ إِلَّا مُؤْمِنٌ وَ لَا يُبْغِضُهُ إِلَّا مُنَافِقٌ
وَ قَوْلِهِ إِنَّ الْجَنَّةَ لَتَشْتَاقُ إِلَى أَرْبَعَةٍ وَ جَعَلَهُ أَوَّلَهُمْ وَ قَوْلِهِ لِعَمَّارٍ تَقْتُلُكَ الْفِئَةُ الْبَاغِيَةُ وَ قَوْلِهِ سَتُقَاتِلُ النَّاكِثِينَ وَ القَاسِطِينَ وَ الْمَارِقِينَ بَعْدِي.

He-asws said to them on the day of consultation: ‘I-asws adjure you all with Allah-azwj! Is there anyone among you Rasool-Allah-saww had established brotherhood between him and himself-saww, when he-saww was establishing brotherhood between some of the Muslims with others, apart from me-asws? ’ They said, ‘No’. He-asws said: ‘Is there anyone among you Rasool-Allah-saww had said for him: ‘One whose Master I-saww was to this one is his Master’, apart from me-asws? ’ They said, ‘No’. He-asws said: ‘Is there anyone among you Rasool-Allah-saww had said to him: ‘You are from me-saww at the status of Haroun-as from Musa-as, except surely there is no Prophet-saww after me-saww, apart from me-asws? ’ They said, ‘No’. He-asws said: ‘Is there anyone among you whom he-saww had entrusted (Surah) Bara’at with, and Rasool-Allah-saww had said for him: ‘No one should deliver it on my-saww behalf, except I-saww or a man from me-saww’, apart from me-asws? ’ They said, ‘No’. He-asws said: ‘Are you not knowing that the companions of Rasool-Allah-saww fled away from him-saww during the war in more than one place, and I-asws did not flee at all? ’ They said, ‘Yes’. He-asws said: ‘Are you knowing that I-asws am first of the people in being a Muslim? ’ They said, ‘Yes’. He-asws said: ‘So, which of us is closer to Rasool-Allah-saww in lineage? ’ They said, ‘You-asws are! ’ – the Hadeeth’’. [229]
And he said, ‘And it is reported from the Prophet-saww regarding Words of the Exalted: These are two disputants disputing regarding their Lord. [22: 19]. He-saww had been asked about it, so he-saww said: ‘Ali-asws and Hamza-asws and Ubeyda (against) Utbah, and Sheyba and Al-Waleed’’. [230]
It is reported from Ja’far-asws Bin Muhammad Al-Sadiq-asws having said: ‘Ali-asws used to see the illumination with Rasool-Allah-saww and hear the voice’’. [231]
And he said in another place, ‘Don’t Muawiya and others from the companions know that the Prophet-saww said to him-asws in a thousand places: ‘I-saww am at war to the one warring you-asws and at peace to the one being at peace with you-asws, and approximate to that from his-saww words: ‘O Allah-azwj! Befriend the one befriending him-asws and be Inimical to the one being inimical to him-asws. And his-saww words: ‘Your-asws war is my-saww war, and your-asws peace is my-saww peace’. And his-saww words: ‘You-asws are with the truth and the truth is with you-asws’. And his-saww words: ‘This is my-saww brother-asws’. And his-saww words: ‘He-asws loves Allah-azwj and His-azwj Rasool-saww, and Allah-azwj and His-azwj Rasool-saww love him-asws’. And his-saww words: ‘O Allah-azwj! Bring to me-saww the most beloved of Your-azwj creatures to You-azwj’. And his-saww words: ‘He-asws is guardian of every Momin after me-saww’. And his-saww words: ‘No one will love him-asws except a Momin, nor hate him-asws except a hypocrite’. And his-saww words: ‘The Paradise is yearning to four’, and he-saww made him-asws to be their first. And his-saww words to Ammar-ra: ‘The rebel group will kill you-ra’. And his-saww words: ‘You-asws shall kill the allegiance-breakers, and the deviants, and the renegades after me-saww’’. [232]
