Hadith 95

y name is Maqdouda’. I asked: ‘And why are you named as ‘Maqdouda? ’ She-asws said: ‘I am Created for Al-Miqdad Bin Al-Aswad Al-Kindy-ra, companion of Rasool-Allah-saww’. I-asws said to the second: ‘What is your name? ’ She said, ‘Zurrah’. I-asws said: ‘And why are you named as Zurrah, and you are noble in my-asws eyes? ’ She said, ‘I have been Created for Abu Zarr Al-Ghufari-ra, companion of Rasool-Allah-saww’. I-asws said to the third: ‘What is your name? ’ She said, ‘Salma’. I-asws said: ‘And why are you named as Salma? ’ She-asws said: ‘I am for Salman Al-Farsi-ra, (freed) slave of your-asws father-saww Rasool-Allah-saww’. (Syeda) Fatima-asws said: ‘Then they brought out fresh dates like an example of ‘Al-Khuskananaj’, large, whiter than the snow, and purer aroma than the yellow musk’. She-asws presented it, and said to me-ra: ‘O Salman-ra! Break the fast upon it in your-ra evening. So, when it would be tomorrow morning, then come to me-asws with its kernel’, or she-asws said: ‘Its seed’. Salman-ra said, ‘I-ra took the date. I-ra did not pass by entirety from the companions of Rasool-Allah-saww except they said, ‘O Salman-ra! Is there musk with you-ra? ’ I-ra said, ‘Yes’. When it was the time of breaking the fast, I-ra broke upon it, but I-ra neither found any kernel for it nor seed. I-ra went to the house of Rasool-Allah-saww during the second day and said to her-asws, ‘I-ra broke fast upon what you-asws had gifted me-ra with, but I-ra neither found any seed for it nor kernel’. She-asws said: ‘O Salman-ra! But there will never happen to be a seed for it nor a kernel, and rather it is a palm tree Allah-azwj has Planted in the House of Peace with a Word He-azwj had Taught my-asws father-saww Muhammad-saww. I-asws have been saying it morning and evening’. Salman-ra said, ‘I-ra said, ‘Teach me-ra the phrase, O my-ra chieftess! ’ She-asws said: ‘If I-asws divulge the secret to you-ra, the harm of the fever will not touch you-ra for as long as you-ra live in the house of the world’. I-ra complied upon it. Then Salman-ra said, ‘She-asws taught me-ra this protective procedure. She-asws said: ‘In the Name of Allah-azwj the Beneficent, the Merciful. In the Name of Allah-azwj the Light! In the Name of Allah-azwj, Light of the lights! In the Name of Allah-azwj, Light upon Light! In the Name of Allah-azwj Who is Manager of the affairs! In the Name of Allah-azwj Who Created the Light from the Light! The Praise is for Allah s. w. t. ) Who Created the Light and Send down the Light upon the (mount) Toor in the written Book [52: 2] In a published Parchment [52: 3], in a Determined measure, unto an exuberant Prophet-saww. The Praise is for Allah-azwj Who is with the Mentioned Might, and with the famous Pride, and thanked upon the joy and harm, and send Salawaat upon our Chief Muhammad-saww and his-saww clean Progeny-asws’. Salman-ra said, ‘I-ra learnt these (phrases). By Allah-azwj! I-ra have taught to more than a thousand souls from the people of Al-Medina and Makkah, from the ones who had fever with them. Each was cured from his illness, by the Permission of Allah-azwj the Exalted’’. [182]
