Hadith 8

s blinded upon you so I-asws shall give you the apparent from it so you will become the most knowledgeable of your city of the meaning of Laylat Al-Qadr’. He said, ‘Then you-asws would have conferred upon me with a favour’. Ali-asws said to him: ‘Allah-azwj is Individual. He-azwj Loves the odd (number), and the Individual has Chosen the odd so He-azwj Flowed entirety of the things based upon (the number) seven. He-azwj Said: Allah is the One Who Created the seven skies, and from the earth similar to these. [65: 12]. And He-azwj Said: Who Created the seven skies as layers. [67: 3]. And He-azwj Said regarding Hell: For it there are seven doors, [15: 44]; And Said: and seven green ears (of corn) and (seven) others dried out, [12: 46]; and Said: seven fat cows which seven lean ones devoured; [12: 43]; and Said: a grain growing seven ears, [2: 261]; and Said: And We have Given you seven from Al-Masaany and the Magnificent Quran [15: 87]. Deliver my-asws Hadeeth to your companions, perhaps Allah-azwj would have Made a noble one among them, so when he hears our-asws Hadeeth, his heart would flee to our-asws cordiality and he would know merits of our-asws knowledge and what example we-asws have struck which no one knows except the ones knowing of our-asws merits’. The questioner said, ‘Explain it, in which night should I aim for it? ’
He-asws said: ‘Seek it in the least seven (nights). By Allah-azwj! If you know the last seven, you would have known their first, and if you knew their first you would have hit Laylat Al-Qadr! ’
He said, ‘I don’t understand what you-asws are saying! ’
He-asws said: ‘And if you call them to the Guidance, then they will never be rightly guided, ever! [18: 57]. As for when you are refusing that it is difficult upon you to understand, then look. When twenty-three nights pass from a month of Ramazan then seek it in twenty-fourth, and it is the seventh night, and recognition of the seventh, for the one who succeeds with the seventh has perfected the religion, all of it, and it is the Mercy for the servants and the Punishment upon them. And these are doors which Allah-azwj the Exalted Said: For each door being for an Assigned segment of them [15: 44]. A segment is destroyed at each door, and with the Wilayah is every door’’. [12]
