Hadith 23

actions among the raised Accepted in Your-azwj Presence, and my speech among what ascends to You-azwj from the good works! And Make me to be with Your-azwj Prophet-saww, and Your-azwj Elite, and the Imams-asws, may Your-azwj Salawaat be upon them-asws all! O Allah-azwj! I seek means to You-azwj through them-asws, and I desire to You-azwj through them‑asws, so Answer my supplication, O most Merciful of the merciful ones, and Uproot me from the stumbles and the obstacles knocking me down! ’
Then ask Your-azwj need and fall in Sajdah and say, ‘There is no god except Allah-azwj the Lenient, the Benevolent! There is no god except Allah-azwj the Exalted, the Magnificent! Glory be to Allah-azwj Lord-azwj of the seven skies and Lord-azwj of the seven earths, and Lord-azwj of the Magnificent Throne! O Allah-azwj! I seek Refuge with Your-azwj Pardon, from Your-azwj Punishment, and I seek Refuge with Your-azwj Satisfaction from Your-azwj Annoyance, and I seek Refuge with You-azwj from You‑azwj! I can neither reach Your-azwj Praise nor the extolling Upon You-azwj, and You-azwj are just as You-azwj have Praised upon Yourself-as! Make my life to be increased from every goodness for me, and Make my death a comfort from every evil, and Make delight of my eyes to be in obeying You-azwj! ’
Then you should say, ‘O my trust and my hope! Do not Burn my face with the Hellfire after my having done Sajdah to You-azwj! For You-azwj O my Master-azwj is from without any conferment from me upon You-azwj, but for You-azwj is the Conferment with that upon me, therefore Mercy my weakness, and my delicate skin, and Suffice me of what worries me from matters of the world and the Hereafter, and Grace me recognition of the Prophet-saww and People-asws of his-saww Household, may the greetings be upon him-saww and upon them-asws, in the lofty ranks of the Paradise! ’
Then say, ‘O Light of the lights! O Manager of the affairs! O most Generous! O most Glorious! O First! O Last! O One O One Who does not beget and is not begotten [112: 3] And there does not happen to be anyone a match for Him’ [112: 4]. O One Who is like this and no one can be like this apart from Him-azwj! O One Who, there isn’t in the lofty skies nor in the lowly earths any god apart from Him-azwj! O Honourer of every humiliated and Humiliator of every honourable! By Your-azwj Might and Your Majesty! My patience has been exhausted, so Send Salawaat upon Muhammad-saww and Progeny-asws of Muhammad-saww and Relieve such and such from me! ’ – and mention the need, and that thing exactly – ‘Now! Now, O most Merciful of the merciful ones! ’ – saying that three times while you are in Sajdah. Then place the right cheek upon the ground and saying the end supplication three times, then raise your head and humble yourself and say, ‘O its help by Allah-azwj, and by Rasool-Allah-saww, and by his-saww Progeny-asws’ – ten times. Then place your left cheek upon the ground and say the end supplication and beseech to Allah-azwj the Exalted regarding your request for it is easiest of the places for the need, if Allah‑azwj so Desires, and trust in Him-azwj! ’’[40]
