Hadith 8

seek His-azwj Assistance, and we seek His-azwj Forgiveness, and we seek His-azwj Guidance, and we believe in Him-azwj, and we rely upon Him-azwj, and we seek refuge with Allah‑azwj from evil of ourselves, and from evil deeds of our works! One whom Allah Guides, so he is the rightly Guided, and one who He Lets to stray, so you will never find there being a guardian (or) a guide for him [18: 17]; and I testify that there is no god except Allah-azwj Alone, there is no associate for Him-azwj, and I testify that Muhammad‑saww is His-azwj servant and His-azwj Rasool-saww’ – and he mentioned remained of the short sermon during the day of Friday’’. [12]
Clarification (Ahadeeth only) – And in (the book) ‘Nahj Al-Balagah’ it is like this: ‘The Praise is for Allah-azwj there is no despair from His-azwj Mercy, nor is there any deprivation from His‑azwj Favours, nor is there any despair from His-azwj Forgiveness, nor any disapproval from worshipping Him-azwj which there is neither any termination of Mercy from Him-azwj nor any missing out from a Favour of His-azwj’’. And in (the book) ‘Al Faqeeh’ it is like this: ‘And the Praise is for Allah-azwj Who, there is neither despondency from His-azwj Mercy nor any vacating from His-azwj bounties, nor despair from His-azwj Comfort, nor disdain from worshipping Him-azwj! ’’
And in (the book) ‘Al-Faqeeh’ – ‘With the most excellent of what is in your presence, and do not seek from it more than the little, and do not ask from it above the sufficient, and be satisfied from it with the little, and do not extend your necks from it to what the extravagant ones are enjoying with, and take lightly with it, and do not make it your homeland and harm yourselves in it, and beware of indulgence, and the distraction, and the excessive enjoyment! ’
And in one of the copies: ‘And the amusements, for there is heedlessness in that and deception. Indeed, the world’’
And in (the book) ‘Al-Nahj’ – ‘And do not ask in it above the sufficient, and do not seek from it more than the sufficient (the necessity)’’. In (the book) ‘Al-Nahj’ – ‘As for after, the world is turning around and has proclaimed the farewell, while the Hereafter is coming forward and is being sudden with the notification’’. And in (the book) ‘Al-Faqeeh’ – ‘Indeed, the world is disguising itself, and turning back and around’. And in one of the copies, ‘And is turning around and has proclaimed with the farewell. Indeed, and the Hereafter has departed and is coming forwards, and it emerging and has proclaimed with the notification’’. He-asws said: ‘There isn’t anything between one of you and the Paradise, except the death’’.
