Morning Supplication (Du'a al-Sabah)

O God, O He who unfurled the tongue of dawn with the speech of its brilliance, who scattered the fragments of dark night into the depths of its confusion, who perfected the creation of the revolving sphere in the measures of its adornment, and who spread the light of the sun in the glow of its blaze. O He who pointed to His Essence by His Essence, who transcended any likeness to His creatures, and who is beyond the adaptation of qualities. O He who is near to the whispers of thoughts and far from the glances of eyes, and who knows what was before it came to be. O He who laid me to rest in the cradle of His security and protection, who awakened me to what He bestowed upon me of His favors and kindness, and who warded off the hands of evil from me by His hand and authority. O God, send blessings upon the guide to You in the darkest night, who holds from Your causes the rope of the highest honor, of the purest lineage at the peak of the noblest shoulder.
