ِهِمْ مَعَ طَلْحَةَ وَ الزُّبَيْرِ وَ نَكْثِهِمْ صَفْقَةَ أَيْمَانِهِمْ
فَنَهَضْتُ مِنَ الْمَدِينَةِ حِينَ انْتَهَى إِلَيَّ خَبَرُ مَنْ سَارَ إِلَيْهَا وَ جَمَاعَتِهِمْ وَ مَا فَعَلُوا بِعَامِلِي عُثْمَانَ بْنِ حُنَيْفٍ حَتَّى قَدِمْتُ ذَا قَارٍ فَبَعَثْتُ الْحَسَنَ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ وَ عَمَّارَ بْنَ يَاسِرٍ وَ قَيْسَ بْنَ سَعْدٍ فَاسْتَنْفَرْتُكُمْ بِحَقِّ اللَّهِ وَ حَقِّ رَسُولِهِ وَ حَقِّي
فَأَقْبَلَ إِلَيَّ إِخْوَانُكُمْ سِرَاعاً حَتَّى قَدِمُوا عَلَيَّ فَسِرْتُ بِهِمْ حَتَّى نَزَلْتُ ظَهْرَ الْبَصْرَةِ فَأَعْذَرْتُ بِالدُّعَاءِ وَ قُمْتُ بِالْحُجَّةِ وَ أَقَلْتُ الْعَثْرَةَ وَ الزَّلَّةَ مِنْ أَهْلِ الرِّدَّةِ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ وَ غَيْرِهِمْ وَ اسْتَتَبْتُهُمْ مِنْ نَكْثِهِمْ بَيْعَتِي وَ عَهْدَ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِمْ فَأَبَوْا إِلَّا قِتَالِي وَ قِتَالَ مَنْ مَعِي وَ التَّمَادِيَ فِي الْغَيِّ فَنَاهَضْتُهُمْ بِالْجِهَادِ
فَقَتَلَ اللَّهُ مَنْ قُتِلَ مِنْهُمْ نَاكِثاً وَ وَلَّى مَنْ وَلَّى إِلَى مِصْرِهِمْ وَ قُتِلَ طَلْحَةُ وَ الزُّبَيْرُ عَلَى نَكْثِهِمَا وَ شِقَاقِهِمَا وَ كَانَتِ الْمَرْأَةُ عَلَيْهِمْ أَشْأَمَ مِنْ نَاقَةِ الْحِجْرِ فَخُذِلُوا وَ أَدْبَرُوا وَ تَقَطَّعَتْ بِهِمُ الْأَسْبابُ
فَلَمَّا رَأَوْا مَا حَلَّ بِهِمْ سَأَلُونِيَ الْعَفْوَ عَنْهُمْ فَقَبِلْتُ مِنْهُمْ وَ غَمَدْتُ السَّيْفَ عَنْهُمْ وَ أَجْرَيْتُ الْحَقَّ وَ السُّنَّةَ فِيهِمْ وَ اسْتَعْمَلْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ الْعَبَّاسِ عَلَى الْبَصْرَةِ وَ أَنَا سَائِرٌ إِلَى الْكُوفَةِ إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى وَ قَدْ بَعَثْتُ إِلَيْكُمْ زَحْرَ بْنَ قَيْسٍ الْجُعْفِيَّ لِتُسَائِلُوهُ فَيُخْبِرَكُمْ عَنَّا وَ عَنْهُمْ وَ رَدِّهِمُ الْحَقَّ عَلَيْنَا وَ رَدِّ اللَّهِ لَهُمْ وَ هُمْ كَارِهُونَ وَ السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَ رَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ وَ بَرَكَاتُهُ.
Al-Basra, and the ones combined to them, from Quraysh and others, along with Talha and Al-Zubeyr and their breaking the agreement of their oaths. So, I-asws got up from Al-Medina when the news ended up to me-asws of the ones who had travelled to it and what they had done with my-asws office bearer Usman Bin Huneyf, until I arrived at Zi Qaar. I-asws send Al-Hassan-asws Bin Ali-asws and Ammar Bin Yasser, and Qays Bin Sa’ad, and I-asws implored you all by the Right of Allah-azwj and right of His-azwj Rasool-saww, and of my-asws right. Your brethren came to me-asws quickly until they arrive to me-asws, and I travelled with them until I-asws encamped at the back of Al-Basra. I-asws excused with the calling, and stood with the arguments, and I-asws uprooted the stumbles and the error from the people of apostasy from Quraysh and others, and I-asws told them to repent from their having broken my-asws allegiance and Pact of Allah-azwj upon them, but they refused except to fight me-asws and fight the ones with me-asws, and persevering in the error, so I-asws fought them with the Jihad. Allah-azwj Killed the ones He-azwj Killed from them as allegiance-breakers, and there turned the ones who turned back to their cities, and Talha and Al-Zubeyr were killed upon their having broken the allegiance, and their wretchedness, and the woman (Ayesha) was upon them, inauspicious from the camel of emigration. They abandoned and turned back, and the reasons are cut off with them [2: 166]. When they saw what had been released with them, they asked for the pardoning for them. I-asws accepted from them and sheathed the sword from them, and I-asws flowed the truth and the Sunnah among them, and I-asws utilised Abdullah Bin Al-Abbas (as governor) upon Al-Basra, and I-asws am travelling to Al-Kufa, if Allah-azwj the Exalted so Desires, and I-asws have sent to you Zakhr Bin Qays Al-Jufy, and you can ask him and he will inform you about us and them, and their returning the truth upon us, and Allah-azwj Repelled them and they were Kafirs. And the greetings be upon you all, and Mercy of Allah-azwj and His-azwj Blessings’’. [55]
