قَالَ الشَّارِحُ وَ رَوَى ابْنُ أَعْثَمَ أَنَّ عَمْرَو بْنَ حُصَيْنٍ أَتَى عَلِيّاً ع مِنْ عَقِبِهِ لِيَغْتَالَهُ بِسِنَانِ رُمْحِهِ فَقَتَلَهُ سَعِيدُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ وَ قَالَ-
أَ لَا أَبْلُغُ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنَ صَخْرٍ-وَ رَجْمُ الْغَيْبِ يَكْشِفُهُ الظَّنُونُ-بِأَنَّا لَا نَزَالُ لَكُمْ عَدُوّاً-طَوَالَ الدَّهْرِ مَا سَمِعَ الْحَنِينَ-أَ لَمْ تَرَ أَنَّ وَالِدَنَا عَلِيٌّ-أَبُو حَسَنٍ وَ نَحْنُ لَهُ بَنُونٌ-وَ إِنَّا لَا نُرِيدُ بِهِ سِوَاهُ-وَ ذَاكَ الرُّشْدُ وَ الْحَظُّ السَّمِينُ-
فَلَمَّا سَمِعَهُ مُعَاوِيَةُ بَعَثَ ذَا الْكَلَاعِ مَعَ كَثِيرٍ مِنَ الْقَبَائِلِ وَ قَالَ اخْرُجْ وَ اقْصِدْ بِحَرْبِكَ هَمْدَانَ خَاصَّةً فَلَمَّا رَآهُمْ عَلِيٌّ قَالَ يَا لَهَمْدَانُ عَلَيْكُمْ بِهَذِهِ الْخَيْلِ فَإِنَّ مُعَاوِيَةَ قَدْ قَصَدَكُمْ بِهَا خَاصَّةً دُونَ غَيْرِكُمْ فَأَقْبَلَ عَلَيْهِمُ ابْنُ قَيْسٍ مَعَ هَمْدَانَ فَهَزَمَهُمْ
فَقَالَ عَلِيٌّ ع لَهُمْ أَنْتُمْ دِرْعِي وَ رُمْحِي وَ سِنَانِي وَ جُنَّتِي وَ اللَّهِ لَوْ كَانَتِ الْجَنَّةُ فِي يَدِي لَأُدْخِلَنَّكُمْ إِيَّاهَا خَاصَّةً يَا مَعْشَرَ هَمْدَانَ
Al Sharih said, ‘And it is reported by Ibn A’sam, ‘Amro Bin Husayn came to Ali-asws from Aqaba to assassinate him with the tips of his spear, but Saeed Bin Qays killed him and said (a poem), ‘I did not deliver to Muawiya Bin Sakhar, and pelting the unseen uncovers the suspicions. They will not cease to be enemies to you, for as long as time, for the nostalgia to be heard. Do you not see that our father is Ali-asws, Abu Hassan-asws, and we are sons to him-asws? And we did not want anyone besides him-asws, and that is the rightful guidance, and the fat share’’. When Muawiya heard him, he sent Zul Kala’a with many from the tribes and said, ‘Go out and aim especially for Hamdan with your war’. When Ali-asws saw them, he-asws said: ‘O Hamdan! Upon you is to deal with this cavalry, for Muawiya has aimed for you in particular with it besides others’. Ibn Qays faced towards them with Hamdan and defeated them. Ali-asws said to them: ‘You are my-asws armour, and my-asws spear, and my-asws sword, and my-asws shield. By Allah-azwj! If the Paradise were to be in my-asws hands, I-asws enter you all into it in particular, O community of Hamdan! ’’[38]
