ُمْ فَخَرَجَتِ الْقُرْعَةُ عَلَى ثَمَانِينَ رَجُلًا مِنْهُمْ وَ مِنْ غَيْرِهِمْ
فَأَمَرَ أَبَا بَكْرٍ بِأَخْذِ اللِّوَاءِ وَ الْمُضِيِّ إِلَى بَنِي سُلَيْمٍ وَ هُمْ بِبَطْنِ الْوَادِي فَهَزَمُوهُ وَ قَتَلُوا جَمْعاً مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ وَ انْهَزَمَ أَبُو بِكْرٍ فَعَقَدَ لِعُمَرَ وَ بَعَثَهُ فَهَزَمُوهُ
فَسَاءَ النَّبِيَّ ص فَقَالَ عَمْرُو بْنُ الْعَاصِ ابْعَثْنِي يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ فَأَنْفَذَهُ فَهَزَمُوهُ وَ قَتَلُوا جَمَاعَةً مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ وَ بَقِيَ النَّبِيُّ ص أَيَّاماً يَدْعُو عَلَيْهِمْ ثُمَّ طَلَبَ أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع وَ بَعَثَهُ إِلَيْهِمْ وَ دَعَا لَهُ وَ شَيَّعَهُ إِلَى مَسْجِدِ الْأَحْزَابِ وَ أَنْفَذَ مَعَهُ جَمَاعَةً مِنْهُمْ أَبُو بَكْرٍ وَ عُمَرُ وَ عَمْرُو بْنُ الْعَاصِ
فَسَارَ اللَّيْلَ وَ كَمَنَ النَّهَارَ حَتَّى اسْتَقْبَلَ الْوَادِيَ مِنْ فَمِهِ فَلَمْ يَشُكَّ عَمْرُو بْنُ الْعَاصِ أَنَّهُ يَأْخُذُهُمْ فَقَالَ لِأَبِي بِكْرٍ هَذِهِ أَرْضُ سِبَاعٍ وَ ذِئَابٍ وَ هِيَ أَشَدُّ عَلَيْنَا مِنْ بَنِي سُلَيْمٍ وَ الْمَصْلَحَةُ أَنْ نَعْلُوَ الْوَادِيَ وَ أَرَادَ إِفْسَادَ الْحَالِ وَ قَالَ قُلْ ذَلِكَ لِأَمِيرِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ
فَقَالَ لَهُ أَبُو بِكْرٍ فَلَمْ يَلْتَفِتْ إِلَيْهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ لِعُمَرَ فَقَالَ لَهُ فَلَمْ يُجِبْهُ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع وَ كَبَسَ عَلَى الْقَوْمِ الْفَجْرَ فَأَخَذَهُمْ فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ وَ الْعادِياتِ ضَبْحاً السُّورَةَ
وَ اسْتَقْبَلَهُ النَّبِيُّ ص فَنَزَلَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع وَ قَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ ص لَوْ لَا أَنْ أُشْفِقَ أَنْ تَقُولَ فِيكَ طَوَائِفُ مِنْ أُمَّتِي مَا قَالَتِ النَّصَارَى فِي الْمَسِيحِ لَقُلْتُ الْيَوْمَ فِيكَ مَقَالًا لَا تَمُرُّ بِمَلَإٍ مِنْهُمْ إِلَّا أَخَذُوا التُّرَابَ مِنْ تَحْتِ قَدَمَيْكَ ارْكَبْ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ وَ رَسُولَهُ عَنْكَ رَاضِيَانِ.
hers. He-saww instructed Abu Bakr to take the flag and going to the clan of Suleym, and they were in the interior of the valley. They defeated him (Abu Bakr) and they killed the entirety of the Muslims (with him), and Abu Bakr was defeated. So, he-saww tied it (the flag) for Umar and sent him, but they defeated him (as well). The Prophet-saww felt worse, so Amro Bin Al-Aas said, ‘Send me, O Rasool-Allah-saww! ’ He-saww sent him, but they defeated him and killed a group of his companions, and the Prophet-saww remained for days supplicating against them. Then he-saww sought Amir Al-Momineen-asws and sent him-asws to them, and supplicated for him-asws and escorted him-asws to Masjid Al Ahzaab, and enforced him-asws with a group of them, from there were Abu Bakr and Umar and Amro Bin Al-Aas. The night passed and the morning came, until he-asws faced the valley from its entrance. Amro Bin Al-Aas had no doubts that they would be seized. He said to Abu Bakr, ‘This is a land of lions and wolves, and it is severe upon us than the clan of Suleym, and the betterment is that we should go above the valley’, and he intended to spoil the situation, and he said, ‘Say that to Amir Al-Momineen-asws! ’
Abu Bakr said (it) to him-asws, but he-asws did not turn (pay attention) to him. Then he (Amro Bin Al Aas) said to Umar, ‘Say (it) to him-asws’. But, Amir Al-Momineen-asws did not answer him and he-asws attacked the people at dawn and seized them. So Allah-azwj Revealed: (I Swear) by the running (steeds) snorting [100: 1], the Chapter. And the Prophet-saww received him-asws, so Amir Al-Momineen-asws descended and the Prophet-saww said to him-asws: ‘If I-saww had not feared that a group from my-saww community would be saying regarding you-asws what the Christians are saying regarding the Messiah, I-saww would say such words regarding you-asws today, you-asws will not pass by any assembly from them except they would take the soil from beneath your-asws feet (for Blessings). Ride, for Allah-azwj and His-azwj Rasool-saww are both pleased from you-asws! ’’[248]
